Vlog 16 - BMW M4 VRSF Midpipe DIY Install (BONUS: Socket Wrench Fail Intro!)

Overview: Full installation tutorial on how to install the VRSF High Flow Midpipe on my BMW M4. This exhaust install is rather easy, but found that nobody had documented the process. Hopefully this video helps anyone interested in this exhaust and installing themselves. This exhaust fits both the F82 M4 and also the F80 M3.
Well this video started off with a literally bang LOL! Smashed my face with a socket wrench and had to leave the clip in as it was hilarious and my reaction was rather odd. Let me know what you think in the comments below!

I live in Florida, we don’t have emissions tests here, but it might fail with out the cats. If it was just mid pipe and cats install, it might be fine.

I’m running VRSF careless down pipes. They’re a great addition to the mid-pipe and I felt the combination of the two drastically changed the sound of the exhaust. Super happy with VRSF products...and their affordable.

I watched your video as my guide to install mine and when I’m driving over 50mph I don’t hear it the exhaust sound anymore. Why is that?

Are you driving it in efficient mode when at 50 mph? The exhaust valves are variable based on rpm. I have Bootmod3 flash tune so that the valves stay open in Sport and Sport Plus mode. Let me know, I can help you troubleshoot if needed.

@@djfinalmrimpossibletoignor2716 Are you driving a DCT transmission? If so, it's probably up in 7th gear and you won't hear the exhaust much until you downshift to 5th or 6th and get on it.

Hey Yanzi! I’m not certain if this voids the warranty, but I’m inclined to say it does. You should check with your dealership to be sure. If it doesn’t void warranty, I highly recommend this upgrade!

@@Awesomoto I might just do it and put back to stock when I go for service, I have a lift. If they ask about the cut pipe I might just say that I changed the muffler but didn’t like it so I put it back to stock lol

@@yanzi1957 Honestly, that sounds like a solid route. A lift would make putting it back to stock easy and I doubt you'll get any grief from a technician about the cut exhaust. lol

I have dp's allready installed, bought 4 new nuts and 2 new donuts' between midpipes and dp's so I don't get any leaks need to buy that cutter for the pipe and find midpipe's. :) nice work man!

@@Awesomoto Ordered midpipe, and added mperformace floor mats as my car came with crappy ones. :) If the car will be stupid loud I may slap stock OEM dp's back on!> i need to swap to stock oem dps this year anyways , So I guess we find out!

lol it seems that way right? No, I just didn’t have any at the time. I recently stocked up on a bunch of power tools including an impact that will make installs much easier.

Don't listen to this. Power tools should be used sparingly. Any good experienced mechanic will tell you this. I only grab a power tool when absolutely necessary. Stripped bolts and broken bolts suck.

btw, does the midpipe rubs in the middle where the bracket is? thats bolted to the body?

Yeah I had some rubbing there. I wrapped some fiberglass exhaust tape around it and it worked perfectly. I drive it for a few weeks before adding the exhaust wrap.
