Personally January is like a Monday on repeat. Your just expected to fall back into the a normal routine after Christmas. It can be frustrating . It’s like this big build up and then you have this huge let down.❤

There was a study somewhere that says it takes a minimum of 4 days when you’re OOO to stop thinking about work. So when you are feeling burnt out you want to take 5 days where/when possible. While that’s a lot harder to do, know you’re doing all the right things trying to do activities you know you like. Also planning out trips or activities you’ll be excited about helps. Knowing something is around the corner to look forward to. Sometimes a small change of scenery is all you need, just getting out of your apartment or places you routinely go. You got this!

I always find when I feel burnt out, I exercise and try to take on a new interest or hobby. Something to get excited about and to learn. Thanks for always being real with your viewers. It does help people! Hope you are reading a good book or whatever might help you. ❤

i’m a teacher & i just had a 2 week break… and getting that time off made me burn out quicker because i got so used to not doing anything. i feel like breaks almost make it worse!

Totally understand need for getting in the headspace for change and forward going. I had a great first week of January but the next week was not the best. It was a blah sort of week. Love your vision board. It's so fun and encouraging.

Hey Keegan love your videos. I get what you are saying about being burntout. I have been feel low these couples of months. I am having a hard time after graduating from university. I feel like time is just passing by so fast and I am just here stuck in a rut. I have applied to jobs but am just not feeling motivated. I am doing things to get me motivated and productive but can't help feel helpless. The anguish feeling you get when you feel you haven''t accomplishment anything. For me yes I got bachelors degree but because I feel like I got the short end of the stick in my family. Their are still some things I need to overcome. However, the anguish feeling makes me feel like time is running out of time paralyzes me .I bring myself to seem like am confident, know what I am doing, etc but in reality I feel like I just about to break. One of my goals this year is to journal. Write about my dreams, feelings, my day and etc. Something have stop doing for years because I never seem up to it or had the time.

ok so tip for anyone who likes the idea of the hello fresh recipes but don't wanna pay for it. I didn't realize this until recently but you can actually go onto their website and find the recipes for free. obviously, it won't be pre-portioned like the boxes but I find it really helps me get ideas and also to try and make sure I'm using up all of my groceries. I also put them into this grocery app I use called bring! and it'll literally make your grocery list for you based on the recipes you want to make

Hi Keegan! Thank you for being so authentic and vulnerable talking about burnout because this is definitely something I deal with a lot and you made me feel so much less alone. I actually just had a college psychology class on burnout prevention this morning. We learned that burnout is actually 3 dimensions 1. emotional exhaustion 2. depersonalization and 3. decreased personal accomplishment. Some of the tips we learned for coping better to prevent burnout were direct coping, comparisons are not helpful, employing both interpersonal and intrapersonal coping, having a sense of humor, having a creative outlet, taking note of your unique qualities -personality matters, practice mindfulness, manage your own trauma, learn the signs of burnout and fatigue, address loneliness, use social support, engage in professional development, bolster coping resources, cognitive behavioral, and utilize a social/emotional approach. Some of these might sound like a foreign language I know they did to me when I first heard them but if you look up any of these online they explain them better and there are tons of fantastic resources online.

Lurker/first time commenter! I'm one of your older subscribers (42) and 20 years from now you'll have been through several burnouts. I've found that I learn something new from each one and have developed better boundaries. As I've aged, the space between burnouts gets longer because I'm making better choices. The pandemic definitely didn't help, but I had my burnout, bounced back, have better habits and hopefully I'm good for a while. :) Hang in there, you're doing great!

Wow I didn’t even notice that I was feeling some burn out but now that you say it I feel like I am too. Like I’m not taking any classes this semester and I’m just working rn but I feel like I’m always running around, needing to do something. Keegan maybe you can divide your clothes by season. In Europe we have much smaller wardrobes and I think it is actually better because it is less distracting. Also you can purge twice a year 😃. Definitely store those cooking cards aand not everyone feels amazing on January. I finished my PhD on December and right now I am trying to recover my energy as you do. If I were you I will mantain what is working for you and try to think less. Visit your parents friends or wharever it makes you feel good until you do and when you have the energy no matter if it's not January do it.

Do you think you need antidepressants? If you're feeling low they're the best thing for you. I take them whenever I feel low and they help a lot

As someone who also has the privilege of making their own schedule, I find it’s best to schedule time off regularly every month. I like to take a long weekend whenever there’s a holiday on a Monday, I find it really helps to have a day to do nothing every month haha

Please don't beat yourself up when you are cooking something. The chicken and the salad looked good, and as long as you enjoy the taste, then that is success. I think that January is hard for lots of us. Christmas is 11 1/2 months away and it gets dark too early. All of us believe in you, Keegan 🫶.

Random question but has it been rainy and gloomy where you are? I took two weeks off of work over the holidays and have been struggling to get my mojo back as well. I honestly think for me it is because it has been really rainy ( for Southern California) and I thrive in sunshine lol

I told my mom that my "new year" starts in February, especially since the academic year is set to start late February. I feel burnt out too. And I literally have to do the bare minimum, a little bit of research and an hour-long meeting once a week, but I just cannot.

“You can’t take months and months break…” No, but you can take breaks. What kind of breaks do you take during the day? A human being can’t survive going non-stop forever. Time blocking has been a huge relief for me. Work for 2 hours, get up, stretch, enjoy the quiet, etc. Then work on your next block.

Pls loose the feeling, that burnouts only is a problem from people 40+ or people going through midlife crisis. Mental problems can effect everybody. And same with that, a mental illness often doesn't go away, when you take a 3 day break and then come back with the same amount of work. Illnesses force you to "change" the lifestyle. Its more like, having strict off days (for example free on weekend) or not working 23 hours of the day, just to get a project done, because you feel forced to. Your body and mind is not just a battery that can be plugged in to a charger when it dies. Do thing for yourself and maybe dont see them that you have to do. For example dont say "I have to stretch, so I can get the splits!" Say it more like "I wanna stretch my body because its good for me and I could improve my splits." AND THERE IS NO SHAME TO TALK TO A PROFESSIONAL, if you think it would help you!! I think this sounded more offensive that it should. I dont wanna attack someone or say, that their way of working is wrong. Sending positive vibes and just love. You got this. Youre not alone.

Don't ever say your sorry for the way you are feeling .Sorry is a sign of weakness. Stand up for what you feel and think. You should start a hobby. One night read several chapters of a book, one night start working on a recipe book.Look on pinterest for ideas for decorating, decluttering and cooking and cleaning.. You can follow me. I’m sorry you are feeling burned out but when I get that way I always try and remember why I love doing my job, and go back to what I enjoy the most about my job to get me out of the funk. So whether it’s filming a certain type of vlog that you enjoy the most or maybe it’s not burn out and it’s just like “phase” that we all go through and then we come out of it, whatever it maybe I know you will figure it out cause you have a good head on your shoulders and you are so smart. Did you ever try the avocado on 🥯 with everything bagel seasoning? If so I’m curious to know what you thought. Have a great Friday and if you are anything like me try not to think too much into things cause that normally makes it worse for me. It all works out in the end hun ❤ I promise you that!!!
