I have friends come in from other states, that were more flat. I am in W PA. They got all disoriented, due to the hills and twisting roads. WV is a beautiful state. Been there MANY of times. Thanks for the video.

It’s definitely a place every rider needs to experience. Especially if you enjoy learning about the history of places you ride. We do our best to have fun but we definitely make some memories every time we go out.

I wouldn't recommend 52 to anyone with big truck and long trailer (winter if snowstorms coming, they don't plow it like most areas) unless you're familiar with road. If you're coming to these trails from general Texas area ride 81 from Knoxville, TN, head towards Wytheville, VA then head north on 77 from Wytheville, VA to Bluefield, WV then get on 52. Bluefield is a railroad city (norfolk southern) now days and they have decent places to eat, one joint called The Railyard, nice place, with good food. Gilbert is about 60 miles on 52 from Bluefield, WV. It's probably 200 miles from Lexington, KY. Now the Pocahontas trail system is near Bramwell, WV which is about 20 minutes from Bluefield, 25 minutes from Princeton. There's a drive inn you can ride your ATV to there in Bluewell near Bramwell called Lynn's Drive-Inn really good hotdogs, hamburgers, great ice cream, you can sit outside on a picnic table, Lynn's usually hosts a car show in June. I personally feel Pocahontas is the best trail system if you want to be near things you're use to day to day in a more populated area. It's close to Mercer Mall, Green Valley Bowling Lane, Glennwood Park where in summer you can rent paddle boats, ride bikes, small playground, and walking trail system that's mostly paved, Bluefield city park has a small train and for couple dollar you can take kids on train rides around the city park (I heard they're about to rebuild the park added more stuff for kids). Summer months Mercer County has a hotrod/car cruise every 3rd Saturday of the month it's called "Cool Cruisin' Nights" it takes place in town Princeton(25 mins from trail system) 5pm-10pm it runs from May-Oct. in Oct. you can take kids trick or treating and they will hand out candy and decorate up those hot rods and bring out the Halloween mobiles. A lot of really, really nice hot rods there. And it's a clean area, on strip where they cruise Jimmy's restaurant is a throwback diner and they have decent food. Taste if Memphis however is best sit down in Princeton, clean, and excellence BBQ. I grew up in that general area, I still visit as I own a 2nd home in the area. My grandfather worked in mines near Welch. I chuckled at you and your wife reaction to that area and being a different way of life! Gilbert is Mingo County, Welch is Mcdowell, Bramwell/Bluefield/Princeton, is Mercer County. Those 3 counties in 1950s combined had nearly 250,000 residents. Today they don't even have 100,000 residents combined. A lot of folks are still trying there to hold it together! It's a dying area I had to move away to better myself, but I still spend a lot of free time down that way... slow paced lifestyle to be sure!

Sweet vid, super setup. Appreciate the upload looks like a great time. Talked with a young hotshot driver Sunday from TX with a 35'+ equipment trailer. Trailer had jack knifed (much have gone off the road) came around and slammed into the side of his new Ram dually. Caved in the whole side, smashed the back window, large side steps bent in and the frame who knows. Was not good had to call for another rig to come in to get the load. Drive safe out there ....

In Williamson when you turn off 119 across the bridge 1st red light gas station on the left make that left and go up a block or 2 and make a right it would bring you around the bridge. Yeah after King Coal Highway 52 past the gas station up on the hill there that is a twisty road. I have taken my 24 ft enclosed extended height trailer down that but now take other options depending where I ride for the weekend. Kinda local so I have never stayed in Gilbert so that place looked great for the kids lots to do there. Awesome the police helped out most places around here are like that. Hope you had a great time out on the trails.

About the time you was talking about how green the Kentucky mountains are, you should have stopped at natural bridge. Eye of the dragon motorcycle ride, Daniel boone back country byway for your jeeps and adventure bikes, hollarwood for your atvs, and more trails than you can walk. And it's still one of the most granola places on the planet. And i mean that in a good way.

You could’ve bypassed Williamson all together…set your GPS to bring you to Logan, then to Gilbert…it’s 4-lane nearly the whole way.

where the trailer is located is where it stayed for the 11 days we were there. It gave the kids a safe place to walk when going from the rooms down to the play rooms down stairs. Overall a great place to stay.

That's a long ass pull. I'm in Austin TX and seriously thinking about making the trip. How many days do you recommend spending on the trails?

Each video we did could be limited to a full days worth of riding. With filming it takes us longer than if someone was just straight riding it. I would say a 3 to 4 day trip would give you plenty of time to see a lot. Also we didn’t go down all the trails at each system. All we did was hit our loop and the attractions on the system. Each system prolly had another day of riding we could of down with going down all the spurs within the system.

Not at all… I never felt that my width restricted us or made it difficult. Overall an enjoyable experience with the 74in wide machine.

Outside of the Initial video I did on the Pro R with the issues I wish Polaris would address…. Overall I really like the new Pro R platform. We named ours Angry for a reason. It feels like the machine is angry and wants to rip anything in its path when you hammer down on the throttle. We will eventually do a review on it once I get more seat time but right now I’m pretty impressed with it.
