Hi. First of all I would like to clarify one thing; teaching license is a must to have before starting a teaching career specially in Canadian Public Schools. There are a few private schools which don't mind if you don't have a teaching license but I would recommend to get it to have more job options. Each province has it's own teaching license and eligibility criteria. Please watch my videos on NL, AB, and MB teaching licenses to have a better idea about that (I will be covering other provinces too soon). It doesn't matter if you are a fresher, everyone has to get it to be eligible to teach in public sector here.

Hi, the answers to your queries are: 1) First of all get Alberta Teacher Certification. 2) It's not about years of B.Ed., but the courses you have covered in B.Ed. They need subject specific and pedagogy based courses. 3) If you can provide a letter stating that the language of instruction in high school was English, then maybe you can be exempted from IELTS (mentioned on their website)

Hi, if you are a Canadian citizen, a Canadian permanent resident or you have a valid work permit, only then you are eligible to work here as a teacher. In the beginning, it's always best and easy to look for jobs in the remote areas. You can always come back to the main cities once you gain some experience. You can also get a teaching job in main cities if you get lucky. Be prepared for everything. Good luck 👍

Well, a vey good question; I got my NL Teacher certification while I was on the study permit, so, I am hopeful that you will get your Alberta Certification while on your study permit too because you are allowed to work part time (valid work permit is their condition). But, I would suggest you to email them and find out just to confirm.

Hi, WOW! you have a strong profile. The public school system requires you to have a teaching license but there are some private schools which don't. You can only work in Canada if you have a valid work permit ( PGWP, PR or Citizen).

Hi, you can get that from the last educational institution you were working at; for me this worked since in Pakistan they do not provide any thing like this. I emailed Alberta licensing authority and they told me to get it from my last employer.

Hi, if you have completed your B.Ed. from outside Canada, then you may require IELTS (Academic). This requirement varies from province to province so better check out the eligibility criteria for the province you want to get the licence of. In Canada, each province has it's own teaching license.

Assalamualaikum. If you intend to teach in public schools here in Canada then you need to have some courses in education. Even if you come here as an immigrant and then approach the certification body for certification, they will suggest you which courses or program you need to take to qualify for the teacher certification. I would say that there is no harm in doing a B.Ed. from Pakistan if you are still waiting for the invitation. It will still save you some money and time. Again, it's all about Canadian equivalency of the B.Ed. courses if you have done it from some other country.

Hi, yes, there are a few solutions. First, you do B. Ed. from your own country and then come to Canada as an M.Ed. student. There are certain private institutions who do not need teacher certification if you don't want to study B.Ed..

Walaikum Salam, all the students are eligible for Post Graduate Work Permit (PGWP), once they successfully finish their program of study in Canada. Just be careful while choosing your program; a degree of two years make you eligible for three years PGWP. Good Luck!

The website clearly says that: "International Qualifications Assessment Service helps to assess your foreign-earned credentials for immigration or work and study in Canada.". Please ask for course-by-course evaluation as this is what is required for study and licensing. Since, I have no personal experience with this service, it's always best to email them and double check.
