Vlog 50 - Lexus GX470 Spoiler Install

We reached Vlog 50!! This vlog dives into the painting and installation of a rear spoiler on the GX. Although this video took longer than expected to produce, it was well worth the extra time in order to document the process.

Hey C.A. Nix! In hindsight I should have done this because the time and materials added up to more than $100…plus I would have saved some stress. Thanks for sharing your approach…I think others should go this route to save time. I’ll pin your comment.

Excellent video. I just purchased a Gx 470 that did NOT come with a spoiler. So, of course I bought the oem spoiler and am having it painted black. From watching your video, I am now confident I can do it myself instead of paying someonelse to do it. Thanks for letting me have a front row seat to your "spoiler installation" class. I'm about to put mine on as soon as the lights I ordered come in for back backup/chase lights, thanks for making the video, you saved me a bunch of hassle. Did you use flex seal or would you recommend using it on the center pad?

Did you paint your roof rails ? And do you think the spoiler would look good in black too? I have to replace my damaged oem spoiler and thinking of trying different color than the factory silver. Might do grey rails , spoiler and lower body trim to generate two tone look

Yeah, I painted the roof rails in Vlog 14 with truck bed liner. I think black would look good...I almost went that route as I thought it might look good with a black roof rack.

I have a gx470 one of the best cars I have. But I think the spoiler looks great also are you going to go off-road with the gx? I think that would be cool plus it could show what the car can do

I agree, this is one of the best vehicles I've owned so far. It looks great with some customizations and its a blast to offroad. Yes, I do have some offroad videos and plan to do more in the future.

Hows it holding up so far with just the two bolts and flex seal? Any water leakage at all?

Good question Anthony! It's holding up fantastic...the flex seal product is incredible. No leaks or issues with fitment quality.
