Had a similar problem on a 25 year old tractor with gravity feed tank. It turned out to be a vapour lock in the fuel line. The previous owner had replaced the fuel line with a larger diameter and longer hose. At some point in the run of the fuel to the carb it was running slightly uphill. Bubbles of vapour were trying to travel upwards to the tank as the gasoline was trying to flow down towards the carb. The reduced flow of gasoline would gradually lower the level of gasoline in the bowl of the carb until the engine would stop suddenly. Waiting a minute or two would set everything back to zero and the motor would start and run normally. Shortening the fuel line slightly and making sure there was a downward slope everywhere along the fuel line solved the problem (after trying virtually everything else you did). Kip Munro

If it has electronic ignition I would say that is your trouble. I had two chainsaws that run great tell heated up .

Regarding your shoulder Jerry, I had exactly the same thing on BOTH shoulders....tried to get a mattress upstairs! Turned out I had caused bursitis in both shoulders and a slight tear in one. After a year, it's still not 100% and that's after doing the physiotherapy exercises religiously.

Regarding the tractor, as Sherlock Holmes would say, if you've ruled out all the possible causes, it's time to look at the impossibles causes. I would check the pistons for hairline cracks.

??????? Jerry: Have you tried running that thing without the fuel filter. I know it is all new stuff, but this sounds, from the really old days, like a clogged filter. Maybe it is just defective new filter. Good luck. Always enjoy watching. Ooopps. Should have listened more, you did that.

Ignition switches handle starting battery amperage loads, they go bad. Easy enough to check with a multimeter.

put the engine on high idle without mowing and see if it still goes dead

Jerry, it’s time to call a Catholic Priest to perform an exorcism on the mower!

Oil pressure switch? Kills ignition when oil pressure drops. Oil thins out as temp rises over 10 mins. ???
@c--qs8jeАй бұрын
weak battery or bad connections in the electrical system? check for voltage drops down the line under a load, they could get worse when heated up.
@kimwilliford6303Ай бұрын
that's a good idea. I didn't think about that. ❤

Great show Jerry..........how about contacting "Chickanic youtube"? Shes pretty smart on small engine repair. I love her channel too.

See if you have a low oil sensor on there and if so it may be bad
@4STEVEJOY34Ай бұрын
How about a low oil, sensor or bad ground connection. Or too much vacuum build up in gas tank. I know nothing about this machine so may not apply.
