Hi! Japanese girl here who loves matcha! Based on the color of that matcha, it seems like the cafe you went to maybe did not use the highest quality of matcha. Personally, if you are going to have a matcha latte or matcha drink in general, using the highest quality organic tea ceremony grade matcha is the best. The 'grassy' taste should not be as overpowering when you're using high quality matcha! Maybe next time ask the barista which grade of matcha they're using and how it's stored because that is super important!!
