My friend gets gel polish on her toes. Her pedicurest recently told her there was a small spot under one of her toes. It ended up being melanoma and she had to have the toe removed and is having 6 months of immunotherapy because 1 lymph node was involved. Her husband believes it was because of the UV rays from the gel light because it works like the UV lights in a tanning bed. Just saying.

I don’t think that’s possible. It’s probably because of sun, usually people go tanning and don’t use sunscreen (especially on the feet) and don’t really know how bad UVA from sun is. This lights that they use are bad but it’s a “fast use”.
