台式火鍋的一般做法：1.大鍋子先裝約60%滿的水。 2.用大湯匙裝雞湯塊（雞湯濃縮的小方塊），等水慢慢煮開時，雞湯塊會開始融化，這時用筷子攪拌一下，讓它融入水中〔 蔥、蒜頭（整粒）、薑請勿放入，因為食材煮熟後，自然會釋放出味道來 〕。 3.大鍋子的水未煮開時先將一些不易煮熟的食材放入：玉米（切成數段）、芋頭（切成小塊）、丸子類（豬肉丸、魚丸……）、豬血糕（豬血混合糯米的塊狀物）、鳥蛋（小顆）、火鍋料（蝦餃、花枝餃……）、鑫鑫腸（類似香腸的小火腿，香腸請勿放入，因為會混淆湯的味道）、……。 4.等水煮開漸漸滾燙時，再將容易煮熟的食材放進去：高麗菜、金針菇、肉片（厚度薄薄的）、豆腐（切成小塊）、豆腐皮（厚度薄薄的）……。 5.準備搭配食材的醬料：沙茶醬〔 可添加濃稠或清淡醬油、或辣椒油、或蒜頭(壓平切碎)…… 〕，把煮熟的食物蘸著醬料吃。 6.搭配煮熟的米飯。 這樣即可吃到肉類＆蔬菜非常的營養又好吃（湯超好喝的），在天氣寒冷或下雨天或工作後感到疲勞時最適合吃，可與朋友一起吃，也可以順便討論一下食材的優劣＆下一次食材的搭配方式。
