We had a MOT inspector who would throw a fit if the tyre age was on the inside of the tyre,as apparently it wasn't his job to search for it and it should be on the outside lol..He wantred to fail them lol..I have found the broken coolant pipe for the compressor is generally some hamfisted person has been there before and either didn't know or didnt bother

I always like to steam clean it first as there’s often little air leaks you can’t hear/see when it’s dry. There’s so much to check it’s a nightmare.

Do you ever have much to do with brand new trucks as in pdi’s. Do you ever have to replace the 5th wheel and what the most high mileage truck you have worked on

When new ones come in we do PDI them, should have some new ones soon! Hopefully! We have relaxed a few 5th wheels, jaw kits etc or 5th wheel faults we have someone in to do! Highest mileage good question we’ll on our fleet highest I think is around 1,250,000 around that number.

Thanks mate, so tacho roll person taking it outs new roll in, and that’s a fair point, I think for me I work on this fleet all the time and know what every tyre size should be on these, but your 100% should be checked via the plate

Never had any problems mate tbf I think we’ve had one Mercedes’ that’s been done but I think that’s it.

@@freightlanetv only way they wear is to lift up the round bearing part. Check for lift.... mot fail if excessive...
