Hi, it’s Erica:) the narrator of the channel.
Winter is getting close in Tokyo…
It’s really chilly in the night time,
so I took out YUTANPO (a foot warmer with hot water) for our bed time.
This is a series of Ken!
Ken, is the owner of the channel and also my husband.
Ken works mainly as a scenario/script writer of TV and radio in Tokyo.
He does not have a fixed office.
So he moves town to another town, cafe to another cafe,
just with his MacBook and does his daily job every day.
That’s how he works! and this is a DAY in his life Vlog.
Ken went to see his good old friend in “浅草 Asakusa” on his day off.
Asakusa is a town where you can enjoy the good old tradition of Japan.
The famous Red lantern shrine “浅草寺 Senso-ji”, sits in the center of the area.
There are historical architectures like “五重の塔 Gojyu-no-tou”, Five-storied pagoda,
“仲見世商店街Nakamise sho-ten-gai”, a shopping arcade with small shops, food stand and restaurants where you can enjoy local street food.
There are over 30 million tourists per year, visiting Asakusa from in and out of Japan.
In this video, there are many great places that are not on famous guide books.
Delicious “カツサンドPork cutlet sandwich” shop together with fun chat with Mama.
Seeing how to make “扇子Sensu”, Japanese paper folding fan, which is quite rare.
And Ken challenged making “food samples”.
You can also see beautiful townscape of silent night time in Asakusa.
You will be moved by the view of Asakusa, being lit up.
Well…why not go for a ride with Ken on his Red HONDA Super Cub to Asakusa?
Hope you enjoy a short 10 minutes travel in Japan.
This video might go well with a cup of tea🍵…Enjoy!!

My Japanese friend told me the best way to differentiate a Buddhist temple from a Shinto one is if there is a font to burn incense in. I've been watching lots of city walk videos over the pandemic and each Japanese one always has tasty food in it. Never fails.

Finally I see you at work Ken! Whenever I come to Japan I get fat in two weeks at least two kilos, but if I ate as much as you do I would gain at least six kilos! Either way it's nice to see you interacting with friends, especially old ones. I love Asakusa, I've been there almost every time I've been back to Tokyo, at night it's just magical. Can't wait to watch the remaining videos! Bravo!

You won't gain weight in Japan no matter how much you eat. I lost 8kg in the 12 days I was there due to all the walking and how healthy the food is.
@ChriSavage
@ChriSavage 2 жыл бұрын
@@edwardfletcher7790 gain 2 kilos in my body was nothing. 15 kilometers walking every day in Japan. But I almost gained two kilos. Eating healthy, but eating a lot also entails this. Considering then that even when I'm on vacation, there is certainly a part of muscle mass.

@@ChriSavage I'm certain all the exercise and heat (July) made me lose appetite too. Japan is an amazing place and the food and low cost of it is incredible 👍

@@edwardfletcher7790 and many people ask me again (after 12 years of my first travel) “but japan is so expensive”! And…. again i explain its only the fly : japan is cheap like other place. U can lunch at the Hilton or at cheapy (and very good) shabu shabu in underground in Shibuya… enjoy my friend, i wish japanese government will repen soon the rising sun!

@@ChriSavage The only cretins who say "Japan is expensive" haven't been there ! My private room in a youth hostel there was US$20 a night and my average meal was US$10 or less ! And it's the most amazing food, because as you know, everything the Japanese do, they give 100% effort 👍
