My hubby gifted me with LASIK 4 1/2 years ago and it was the absolute best thing that I've ever done! I was a contact lens wearer like you, and my eyes started getting so dry and problematic after years of contacts that I had to eventually give them up. I was blind as a bat without my glasses so lasik was amazing. Congrats to you!

Awesome, SO happy for you!!! My husband had Lasik about 4 yrs ago and he had patches over his eyes for a full 24 hrs, couldn't open his eyes at all during that time...I'm curious as to how your procedure was done???

Oh wow, I did not have to have any patches at all...just clear glasses to protect me in case anything were to get in my eye.

I had LASIK two years ago and the first time my vision wasn’t corrected enough so I had to go back a few months later and do it again. The first time was fine but I took Valium. The second time they forgot to give me Valium and I let it go, but boy was I sorry. I was so anxious and I got through it but it freaked me out!!

THANK YOU so much for sharing your surgery info. I am curious about LASIK and wanted to know just exactly how it is done and how it feels to the patient. I had no idea that it takes so little time to complete. I am queasy, and nervous about eyeballs and medical procedures, but you make it seem doable.

You can always take the Vallium, I'm sure that helps a lot too if you do have anxiety about this stuff! But it was honestly not bad, and over so fast. Definitely worth it!!

It varies depending on your vision and what you need for each eye, etc! There's also an option to finance it...it's definitely a big investment but I am loving my vision! 💗

That’s so awesome! I have always wanted to have that done. I have severe dry eyes so I am not sure what they can do for me. One dr did explain it to me, but that was awhile ago so hopefully technology has advanced since then. It would be great to rid myself of glasses and contacts, which I can’t really even wear anymore since my dry eyes. I will do a lot of research before though. 💗

You see kind of a bright red dot to focus on and two other blue dots and they kind of get blurry and blend together at points...it's actually kind of a pretty little light show 😂

This Friday is my 4th retina detachment surgery 😭 I’ve been awake each surgery! Takes about an hour.. I can never do laser to ditch my glasses... hopefully this surgery works and I can heal and live life again!!!! Excited your procedure went well!!

I have always heard to do this when you are a bit older, I'm 18 and I have been basically blind since I was 13. I hate wearing glasses & sometimes contacts gives me headaches after wearing them for awhile. I understand your struggle! My dad had this procedure done, I might have to ask him more about it. I am envious because I am not suitable for LASIK. I agree it’s better to be awake for surgery. I had two abdominal surgeries under anaesthetic and had my son by c-section while I was awake. It was a very strange experience being cut open and feeling someone rummaging around in your tummy but better than going under!

I also got lasik. Looooooove it!!!! Took months though for my eye to heal and computer screens killed my eyes for awhile so if that happens to you try blue light glasses. They did wonders!! Enjoy your 20/20 vision 😊😊😊😊

They put a really gentle thing on your eye to hold it open...you can't feel it at all but that way you don't have to worry about it! xoxo

Neutrogena wipes are the best for makeup removal!!! Trust me... I felt the trader joes micellar wipes have a thicker material to wipe.. especially the under eye area.. but neutrogena ones are great! Always always!

No, as you saw in the video I was only supposed to close my eyes/nap for the first 3 hours, then you can go on like normal.
