VLOG: ghibli park, haul (i bought my dream ghibli merch!!!), final thoughts (a bit disappointed)

I do appreciate the park's attempt to be more calm and tranquil by having it be very large with landscaping almost like a nature park, and with less rides to make it less like a theme park. It's closer to the Hobbiton Movie Set than a theme park. But from watching many vlogs of the park I do feel like it's lowky Wizarding World 2.0 in that the highlight of it is shopping for merch, most of which is super expensive! It would be nice to have more cooking activities and art workshops, maybe some Totoro themed treasure hunts around the landscape! I'm sad they didn't have a Catbus ride or Ponyo toy boat water ride. I'd even welcome having Kiki's bakery an actual cafe you could sit in (much like the Green Dragon Inn at Hobbiton), or some iconic Ghibli places/buildings that you could actually stay overnight in as an extra package.

I think they might be doing that for Kiki’s section! But I agree, some more themed to-do’s would’ve made the park feel more worth it. I know there’s a ghibli’s world near Tokyo that is apparently even better themed so it’s like why should you go to the park if you wanted to immerse yourself in the world when there’s one so much closer to Tokyo?

The thing is , (I've just visited Ghibli Museum in tokyo) I have the impression of the park and the museum to be there just to sell merch. It's often crowded, expensive , you don't really have any attractions (compared for exemple with a disney land or the universal studio) You're just there to take photos and buy merch. They could have done so many things with this park... it's sad. I've went to the museum, I've thought about the park but your video convince me otherwise haha

Yeah I was going back and forth between both during this trip but decided on the park because I know it’s supposed to be “bigger”. I definitely hope they are able to build it up to be more interactive rather than just to take pictures and buy merch 😔
