I am a little curious as to why you chose Joburg over Durban and Cape Town, which are the more aesthetic options.

Because there’s much more to living somewhere than it just being a beautiful place (Joburg is beautiful too)

@@TayllorChanise Interesting point about more to living. I wonder if you could maybe expand on that. I only ever chose Joburg for the salary, but after two years I had enough of the place, having grown up just south of Durban and worked in Cape Town. My main issue with Cape Town was affordability vs salary, but I felt the cleaner air and cleaner city made up for that. Durban is an affordable version of Cape Town, with much better weather and a warm ocean. Joburg gave me none of those things. I don't think it's beautiful at all. Too much concrete and mine dumps. I felt like Winston Smith from 1984. But we see things differently, I guess, which is why I asked.

hey sis! what did you do about proof of medical insurance? I have Tricare and am covered overseas. However, my proof of coverage letter doesn't really state anything about it. Cape Town has one doctor's office in network and for out of network visits, I'd pay out of pocket then submit a claim to be reimbursed. Are the visa agents picky? Should I purchase another insurance?
