VLOG: I got a wavy haircut!! (+ house projects, school + a solo weekend)

Wavy hair tip: after putting in something that forms a cast/crunch, don't touch your hair until it dries. Touching it while wet will introduce frizz and breaking a cast if your hair is still wet will result in losing the curls that were forming. You probably don't need to keep it up in a plop either, I think that's usually better for curlier hair. Personally, I like to put in some air dry curl foam, scrunch it into dripping wet hair, making sure to go up and pulse each section only one or two times. Constantly picking up the hair to scrunch it will cause frizz. After it dries, you can break the cast with oil or break the cast then apply a little oil after.

I just embraced my waves at 35 yrs old because I found the easiest and most appealing wave routine! (It works if your NOT a back sleeper). With brushed, dry hair, (could be blow dried or air dried) divide hair in half all the way to the back of head (as if doing 2 pigtails), and then one section at a time very lightly dampen hair and tightly twist hair in one direction into a 'rope' and twist that rope into a bun on the back of head slightly above ear level. Secure with no-dent hair ties. Repeat on the other side and that's it! 😊 So you will be sleeping with two buns and in the morning you will have pretty waves. It works perfectly for me and lasts! 🎉 (For context, I have fine, thin, naturally wavy hair at collarbone length that I have straightened all my life) Hope this helps someone else! 💚 Not to be dramatic, but it has sort of changed my life 😄😄

Biggest tip for wavy, get a satin or silk pillowcase and a good spray bottle for refreshing!!! Also, sleep in a loose bun, a pineapple or scarf or bonnet always flatten my waves

This is scary. I literally bought a curling cream (killer curls from Kevin Murphy) a week ago!!!! Isn’t it amazing? Try letting it air dry!! Also, you should slowly avoid heat/dye as it will make your natural hair even more wavy and gorgeous!

Your hair looks good but for your wavy/curly hair you may want to use less gel. Too much can make it look stringy. Also when it’s drying, do not keep touching it because it leads to frizz. Wash, put products in, scrunch and let it dry fully. Also use a microfiber towel or T-shirt to dry. Yes, I have naturally curly hair. It’s a learning curve.

I don’t know….I feel like anyone I watch on KZbin who is “discovering their curls” just really looks like they need a really good shampoo. Maintaining curls is way more maintenance than just blow drying your hair straight. If you want curls, then great. You’re signing up for a workload. Very few people have dead straight hair. Most people’s hair will wave from plopping and scrunching and using clean shampoos. It’s whether you feel passionate enough to do all that work for what looks like messy hair. People whose hair curls in amazing ringlets from the curly girl method are most probably backing it up with a curling iron.

I personally need a generous amount of gel in my hair and keep it sopping wet while applying the gel. I prefer to air dry my hair (without plopping) but usually I diffuse it because I shower before work
