My 3 year did the same! I changed the texture of food! So i went from pasta to rice to jacket potatoes. I also stuck to what he liked but i could tell after starting nursery he got quite bored because at nursery they provide a wide variety. Maybe switching it over will help. Congrats on babe no’2 x

Congratulations 💛 and delighted you're back ☺️ ps. Re dinners- 100% feel you. During the summer and esp after creche I just give them a chopped up picky dinner- avocado, various beans, sweetcorn, wholewheat tortilla strips, maybe a bit of egg (omelette strips or boiled), ham, cheese and fruit pieces, cold pasta. I put it on a plate in the middle and serve a tiny bit of each to start - a) to keep my sanity effort wise b) cos if they don't eat it all I can use some the next day

We love anything you vlog, In the grocery shops because it gives us a glimpse into the shops there. See if Gabe will point to what he wants in shops and at home and if he eats a certain thing over and over it doesn’t matter give it to him.

My toddler does this on and off with food. He’s 3 now, but Around two his appetite slowed right now and he wasn’t as hungry anymore at dinner. Had to ask nursery to slow the snacks down so that he would eat dinner. You can Try serving a “safe” food with something new or in a different format ie Chilli con carne with rice or as nachos. I also put down a fruit, yoghurt and the main meal at the smile time. He used to know if he waited he would get a yoghurt at the end. By putting it all down at the same time, he could eat his favourite or safe foods, then if he was still hungry, he would try the other food. Good luck, eating is a minefield. The Instagram “kids eat in colour” has heaps of tips too, super helpful with negotiating with a three year old why they should eat carrots.

Congratulations amazing news Gabe is absolutely beautiful, I know everybody is going to give advice my second daughter was the same she had the same stuff day in day out and I genuinely twice a week or put something completely different on her place on sweet potato fries were then one of her favorite things to eat and also I’m going to say chicken nuggets but I made them myself and put Panko on the outer and she loved them veggies got really difficult but I I add cheese under the grill to anything she still loves that 😂😂😂 so glad your back cxx

In Belgium we know something called "hachis parmentier", it basically is a dish, ground beef in a casserole (cover the bottom, meat pre-cooked), then put a layer of mash, a layer of ground beef again, and a layer of mash. It is *delicious* and soft food.

congratulations. my 17month old goes through phases where she won't eat things she previously liked and then suddenly likes things she wouldn't eat before so I need to keep offering her things every few weeks, I hate food waste so her dad is forced to eat all of her leftovers. I was told the same about "if they don't eat what they are given then that's that" but I'm like you until they can properly communicate it doesn't sit right with me to send a child to bed hungry. Really glad you're going to be filming your journey second time around x

I’m not sure if this is reassuring or not but my LO is Gabe’s age / I think they’re about 4 weeks apart and he’s in the last month gone off dinners / meals in general and quite a few food groups all in all . I’ve seen a dr and they’ve assured it’s very likely due to the age they’re discover texture and also at the age of 2 they’re really begin to produce more feeling around their tastebuds so the repulsion off food is often temporary and will just adjust in time. You’re such a gentle and loving parent it’s lovely to see !! Congrats on no 2 ! Fab little family 🥰 x

Hey sweetie 🤗 so lovely to see you. A huge congratulations ☺️ I’m so happy for you both. Gabe is so so big now and just adorable. I don’t have kids so cannot really advise re the eating situation but my niece and nephew are 5 and 6 and they are the same with food. What they loved one week they now don’t want….but my sis will say the same as what you said, if they’re hungry they’ll eat it - only if she knows they’re just being fussy in that movement but not if they really don’t like something. Sometimes they literally have just plain pasta and they love it… and some times plain pasta with a bit of grated cheese on the side (cause they don’t want it on top 🙄) but you’ll find your way so try not to worry. I'm really excited for this haha. My first baby will be 4 weeks old on thursday and currently all I want to consume is pregnancy/motherhood content because it's what I can relate to. Also, maternity leave is lonely, I need company in the form of these videos to fill my days with! Congratulations on your pregnancy, I'd love to hear you discuss your thoughts on age gap, having a second etc as although it's a long way off for me I am already wondering when the 'right' time would be. My 16 month old has started refusing a lot of foods/meals too. I've just started giving mini grazing platters and making sure all food groups are covered (some more than others admittedly 😬). I give 4 or 5 different bits with 3 being anything I know she will eat so safe foods and then I introduce 1 or 2 new foods and I leave her too it. Messy but I think she likes the choice. It is a minefield though 😂 Lovely news for you all, congratulations. Love your content x

From one gardener to another. Lavender can go to absolute crap during wintertime, it will actually look dead, like brittle wood; do not get rid of it, it is a winter sturdy plant and will sprout green again come spring/summertime!

Mary, try giving him mash or a potato with some vegetable (green beans are nice to give), and a meat if you're into it (like a hamburger). Kid friendly and it nourishes.

Congrats on your pregnancy. Do you think the hot weather affected his appetite? I think people and kids eat less when it’s hot. If he is eating at nursery, maybe he is just full and not hungry after? Does he seem hungry? What I tried and worked was to offer a plate of a number of different things. Say a cracker, a cherry tomato, a biscuit, a few crisps, a slice of meat, some sweet corn, a slice of carrot. Observe what he is eating and alter accordingly. If he is eating at least once be it at any meal or nursery and refusing everything else and you think he is fine in himself, maybe it’s fine. Only you know. I don’t think toddlers need to speak to tell you what they want. You can hold up 2 things and they point to what they want. You are doing amazing. My child still does not eat sandwiches but will eat some ham and a cracker separately. She would also eat a plane roll but not with any filling !

If he was sick, and there’s a change in his appetite, it’s fine if he doesn’t eat much for a couple of days, as long as he’s getting enough liquids. Giving children multiple choices of food is cultural. If you offer him nutrition food and he refuses, fine. He’s a healthy kid, he’s in no way malnourished. He looks so cute! But, he’s exerting his power, which is normal and good, but you have to decide how much leeway will you give. If he won’t eat and continues not to eat within those few hours, he wasn’t that hungry. Humans can go longer without food, than most modern people realize. Your child, your choice. Congrats on the new lil person! 💐
