While you’re still in Florida, you guys should take a weekend trip up to Saint Augustine. Nights of lights is going on right now, all of historic downtown gets lit up and there’s a big Christmas tree in the town square. Waking around during nights of lights is like being in a snow globe (minus the snow of course) it’s absolutely beautiful, and you don’t want to miss it! Saint Augustine is the oldest consecutively occupied town in America, founded in 1565. There is so much history, so much to do and see, and a lot of really great local restaurants and bars! It’s also located right on the bay, and if you sit and watch long enough you’ll see dolphins! A lot of people also deck their boats out in lights this time of year too. It’s so magical.

Your new digital nomad lifestyle has inspired my husband and I. We booked our month long trip to Hawaii next year and we are so excited! Our baby will be 14 months by then and I’m looking forward to to not feeling rushed to experience everything all at once. We can take our time and really soak in the beauty. My husband will be working from our condo a lot of the time but both of our families are going to visit too.

@@tierrajordan1513 we are staying in Ko Olina on Oahu. That’s where the Disney resort is and it’s very kid friendly/safe which is important to us since this will be our first time bringing our baby. My husband was born and raised on Oahu so we go back there to visit old friends. We’ve stayed in Waikiki before at Hilton Hawaiian Village and Pacific Monarch(great location but very budget friendly). There’s a lot to do on Oahu but I know Maui is amazing. I would love to go there one day. In general they have super strict laws on air bnbs in Hawaii so it’s hard to find places that will let you rent for less than 30 days. I believe more counties in HI are adding these laws due to people buying houses as investment properties and displacing locals. They both have benefits. It really depends on the vibe of vacation you want.

I moved from Ohio to Florida and just finished my first year here. The summers in Florida are not bad and the hottest it gets is for only 2 months and it usually rains every day during those months. Definitely beats 6 months of cold weather and weeks of no sun at a time.

I would just like to say that I live in Southeast Texas, ON the gulf. Literally. It was 74 degrees today, December 5th. It is my favorite thing. Are summers HOT? Absolutely. Is it incredibly humid? ABSOLUTELY. But it is NOT a deal breaker if you're someone who hates the cold. Nothing tops these warm "winters" for me. I think you'll love it!

For the steel cut oats you should probably research how to cook them. It’s different than rolled oats or instant oats. They also take a lot more water to cook.

What you put in your body is 100% true. I started a low carb lifestyle and really low sugar mostly sugar free and if I venture into the sugar or more carbs I ALWAYS get the telltale zit on my chin in the same spot every time!

Steel cut oats take a moment to get used to, but in general it needs more water; and if you’re going to add something make sure it’s kinda dry. So happy for you, and yes vlogmas!!! I wonder if we’re caught up? Given that it was near the end of November in the last vlog last I remember. Tomorrow is going to be awesome!!! Though I can’t see myself living in Florida, I gotta say I can see y’all living the life there; but for me there is a few reasons I couldn’t live there. For me it’s similar to what some locals say in Hawaii “the local life is great, but more better for vacation”

I live outside a touristy ski resort/mountain area that lots of Texans visit. They all assume we do all the fun touristy things. Nope-I avoid going into town on weekends and holidays. We work during the week. It’s different when you live somewhere vs visiting.

I agree, but also disagree as you get a feel of the place as a tourist; and a local once you know where to go. It gives you a feel of seeing yourself living there, and there is a lot I like about Florida; along with things I dislike. Then you add some politics into it, and for me I can’t see myself living there. I’d rather vacation there, and leave; than live there.

Finally finished. Yes, the Boca Ciega has some amazing views and it's huge. My mom and stepdad were off St Pasadena Blvd and their community had boat slips on that same body of water (it was across from Ted Peters) and they'd tell me about my great aunt and uncle coming to visit them in their community by boat. It was a 25 minute drive by car from Treasure Island to St. Pasadena, but about 10 minutes by boat. The new place is GORGEOUS! St. Pete Beach is what sold my husband on wanting to move to Florida, and I have to admit that it is hard to beat the views. Prepare for the British and Canadian accents - the snowbirds are either there or arriving soon. I loved that about the area, especially when visiting my mom, there were so many nice people who were happy to share details of 'back home' in another country. If that appeals, check out the Horse and Jockey, owned by a British couple, great food and beer, and always seems to have a lot of Brits when we're there ( the sign that they've got damn good fish and chips, IMO)

It's really all about preference. Glad you guys are loving Florida and get to stay. Personally, a Florida summer would paralyze me more than a bad winter anywhere because my body does not tolerate heat well at all. If you think 60s and 70s are "chilly" you probably could handle the heat and humidity better 😂. I'd live in Alaska over Florida!

I have the same issue with alcohol. I swear I'm allergic to it. Except in addition to the no sleep, I also get extremely sick and feel like I was run over by a bus. If you want to try heartless curls you don't need to buy those things, I use the belt from my robe the same way and it works great! It's less bulky than the ones you buy so it could work well for short hair

so i’m from Long Island myself as well and currently living here now but i did move to Largo FL (in between tampa and st pete) last year May 2021 and i ended up moving back to LI this year. I thought the same way as u that i would rather endure bad heat for the summer than a depressing winter, but honestly the summer is legit no joke there LOL and it’s not like you can go to the beach because most of those months it’s also storming. BUT even though i came back to LI, my mom still lives in FL (poet saint lucie) and she much prefers the hot summers in FL than the cold winters on LI! so it def depends all on personal preference i just wanted to share my experience :)

I used to live down in St Pete for college so its so amusing to revisit the area through your vlogs! I loved it at first, personally couldn't wait to leave after a few years but still like the area. It's a love/hate relationship but St Pete is definitely the best city in FL if you're thinking of moving there longterm
