When I was taking a marketing course many moons ago, I learned that target and Walmart sold the same products, the only difference is who they prefer to shop in their stores. Also people forget that target was on the verge of closing down & going bankrupt before they disconnected initiative. With that being said, in the words of Mel Robbins "let them" go straight outta business. Pivot people, Pivot!

Hey Tan, the issue for me with Target is they so heavily promoted Black, women and Latino brands and now with Cheeto in office they are basically saying it was all for the money 💰. For them to so quickly do away with DEI speaks volumes for them as a major corporation. I have never been and will never be a Target shopper, now my daughter on the other hand loves Target. We have discussed it and at this time we have decided to do a no buy for February, and only buy necessaries. We as a people have to stand up, but again it’s an individual choice.

Don't know what the future holds because I shopped there at least 2 a month if not more, but I love supporting our own also! Now Starbucks! I had made the decision to not shop at Target and frankly to me they do not offer me much to want to continue shopping there. I’ve always felt that although their products were ok, they lacked quality & were overpriced. To me it’s simple…If they don’t want my funds, I don’t want their products. Enjoy your weekend❤❤❤

Thank you for addressing this, sister. The purpose of a boycott is not to have a company/business to ONLY cater to blacks (or whomever of boycotting), its to have said company/business to respect that consumer's dollar, get their attention and be as inclusive to said party as done with all. The boycotts are for equality, not for dominance. Thanks for explaining to those who have either not lived or participated in the movement or those that failed to do the research.

Hi Tan.. I’m old enough to remember when Target wasn’t every where. I can easily shop other places. The problem is people are making excuses to continue to shop there but it’s an individual decision what everyone decides to do. It just would be nice as a “community” if we could stick together (at least for 30 days). 🤷🏽‍♀️ Plus when does anyone go to Target and pick up “specific” items.. 🤦🏽‍♀️

Good point about boycotts not lasting forever, but how do you know when they’re over?Gucci hiring Dapper Dan wouldn’t cut it for me - but I wasn’t boycotting them anyway. There was a defined goal with the Montgomery bus boycott, so everyone knew what needed to happen before it was called off. Nowadays they feel performative-people just want to rant about something on social media until they feel like shopping again.
