A little personal but my dad passed when I was 1 month old. I don’t think about it often but when I see dad-daughter interactions it makes me long for something I know I will never be able to feel. I love the moment when your dad wraps his arm around you and smiles. Cherish who you have.

About “spigot…” I’m a speech therapist, and “k” and “g” are almost exactly the same thing. :) For “g”, you turn your vocal cords on, and for “k,” they don’t vibrate. It’s just air. That’s the only difference. Totally normal error since they sound so similar!!

I laughed so hard when you talked about different words that you were saying incorrectly because that's how your Mom said them. My Dad had his own language he made up to see if people noticed. He was hilarious!!! 😂🤣😂 He passed away about a year ago. He was one of my BEST friends. Your parents are awesome, Michel!!! Treasure all the time you get with them...always say I LOVE YOU!!! Michel, my whole life has turned upside down the past month. I have to break my lease next month and move home for a few months to recover from some mental health issues. But after I recover I will be moving to a new apartment in my hometown after being 6 hours away for 7 years. Coaster hack to hold you over until you find the perfect set.. go get floor samples at Home Depot or lowes (they are free) and use that until you find the ideal set! Protect wallet and furniture! 😊

I laughed through this and yet it made me a little sad. You have wonderful parents as I did. Yours remind me exactly how mine were. Always there to help with moving stuff and hanging things and going out to eat. They are no longer alive, I miss all those times. I loved seeing all you've set up in your new apt. I am that picky too. Want it all done now, but too picky to just run out and buy an item. OMGosh, Max was so into your rug! When you said you hide his food in a mat, I think he was feeling that what you opened was just that! Your parents, are just the best!! Right before my mom passed a year ago, I told her how much I appreciated her always being there and all she did for me. She immediately said, that is what mothers do. You have those kind of parents. Looking forward to the next updates!!

Coasters .. Ikea has awesome coasters. They're cork and only around $3/2. A great compromise between getting it done (so your tables are safe) and giving yourself time to find a perfect set.

Love the new place, you're doing a beautiful job decorating it! For Max, does he like the dog park? I find when I'm dogsitting that's one of the best ways to exercise a dog if they don't love walking. They'll run around and around with their doggy friends and be exhausted when they come home. Also maybe doggy daycare - they play with them so much there that they love it and they're tired when they come home.

My mother is foreign (Hungary) and also says "az-part-uh-may" for aspartame which I think is how it's pronounced in other languages? She also says "vinyl" with a short "i" sound which I didn't realize I was mispronouncing until college, and we say "wifi" like "wiffy" because that's how it's pronounced in Europe anyways. I'm sure there's more examples but those were the 3 that immediately came to mind.

A suggestion for the diffuser to still sit out would be to get a fake table book for the coord to sit in under it and you could probably find a portable battery situation to even power it so it’s not plugged into anything and hide that in the box if you really wanted

I had several words that I said wrong too because my family said it that way....examples are chimney was chimLey, a water hose was hose pipe, chest of drawers was chester drawers and wrong side outwards was wrongsideadders...lol!

@13:50 not exactly but my mom had us use the full name for things that are often shortened. For example instead of ENT Dr or (ear, nose and throat doctor) we say otolaryngologist. Or for anabiotic appointment, we say, neomycin, bacitracin, polymyxin, yes, the whole thing. I didn’t know that people usually shorten things like that until I was in college. Oh boy.😂❤
