Hello everyone and welcome back to my little corner of the internet! I decided on a vlog style instead of just sitting down and chat.. if you don’t want to watch the vlog part skip to 15:45! This is the sit down and just chat portion of the video. Thanks again for clicking on the video. One 💚

Ma'am where have you been?! I have been following you since I started FNP school and just recently completed my program and now licensed and looking for my first job! The information you provided through your experiences and how you cope with job dissatisfaction while balancing home life truly helped me understand that BALANCE and healthy boundaries are essential. You are not beholden to any organization if it stresses you out and affects your mental. Thank you!

I for one will sit and watch you make coffee all day. 😂😂 I totally enjoy your channel-Nursing AND personal content. It’s just so nice and refreshing to see an intelligent classy professional Jamaican woman. And life isn’t one dimensional. I found you with the nursing content- yes- but as we move along in life focus changes- we have struggles and triumphs, family and friends, shopping and caring for the home, keeping marriage fresh, travel, health, money, etc. And many of us are here for that cuz we have the same things/situations going on and it’s just relatable content. Missed you and glad to see u back.

I’m so happy to see you back. You were the first NP I followed as I was trying to decide if I was going to start wound care in the nursing home. I like that ur honest about your experiences bcuz I have been an NP for 9 years and wasn’t really liking most of my jobs and felt burnt out. I’m now doing telehealth and have actually found my passion in psych… NEVER thought I would, but I’m less stressed. I love seeing you make coffee and was inspired to make a cute station for my tea bcuz of you. I enjoy your traveling and your interactions with ur family. Very happy ur back!

Thank you Thank you Thank you for all of your videos/vlogs .This is my first comment on you tube but really needed to post to encourage you to keep these videos coming. I’ve benefitted so much from your videos as a new grad ( I’ve watched all your past videos)- all your teaching vlogs your raw honesty about the NP world/jobs.. As a new grad I was on the internet looking for any videos that talked about the first year of NP, personal thoughts/ opinion - I came across your videos and was just so encouraged, motivated by your post- I’m sure many others person especially new grads who don’t post but share the same opinion like I do about your videos. I’ve really been blessed, motivated, encouraged by your videos esp those first few months as a new grad- Many others are also benefitting from your post so PLEASE KEEP THEM COMING.. Thank you

I’ve enjoyed your VLOGS, with and without the nursing content. Around the time that you fell out of love with nursing, I was having similar feelings so it was a relief to know that I wasn’t alone. It may be useful to ask yourself “If time and money weren’t factors, what would I want to be doing right now? What truly interests me?” The answers may not be realistic, BUT it they could help guide you. Regardless, I’m here for the videos! Speaking of….its pumpkin season, can’t wait to see your decor, haha! ❤

I’ve been a nurse for 5 years and worked in long term care for 4 years. I’ve worked in PCU for a short while and decided I no longer wanted to do bedside. I tried the OR which was ok but the pay was not good. I’m now at a rehab hospital which is not bad but not what I want to be doing 3 years from now. I thought about getting my NP but do not know what I would do with it honestly! 😊

I had some similar experiences. Much like you, I took it as a sign that it wasn’t meant to be. I also wondered if it could be some opinion I voiced on my social media. However, if an employer is going to ghost me because I express my opinion, I don’t want to work for them. There isn’t anything on my social media that’s inappropriate but we’re living in such a messed up world.

You can work in the ICU, Trauma unit, ER, LTC, as a hospitalist, and many other jobs within the hospital. Plus being an experienced FNP will open many doors. Many hospitals (at least in my area) are phasing out FNP's. Glad to see you back...
