One of the lessons I'm learning in this season of life is to live your own life and not allow others to live it for you (including protecting your heart and mind from criticism and hatred). I also read a quote that said we all have 2 lives: the second begins when we realize we only have 1. These 2 things have helped me find a great stillness within me and uncovered a confidence that has helped propel me in the right direction in life 😊 just wanted to share for whoever may need it.

I didn't wait until marriage but after a breakup with someone of 6 years it took me a long time to feel comfortable being physically intimate again with someone else. It’s been over a decade for me, and I’m still not comfortable with dating again. I think everyone is different. I dated right away and realized it wasn’t in my best interest, as I wasn’t mentally ready to be with anyone yet. Now I am used to be solo after raising my child, not sure about getting back out there. They say time heals, but I’ve given it time, and I’m still wounded.

Waxahachie (there in Texas) used to have a little coffee shop that sold local art and flowers. They also had vintage furniture decorating the shop and some of that was for sale as well. They’d have a florist come in once or twice a week I think. I remember we were so excited when it opened because it was the first place locally that we could get nitro cold brew coffee. 😄 This was 6-7 years ago though, so they may not be there anymore. Waxahachie also has the Dove’s Nest, which is also pretty cool. If you’re ever up near Dallas check out Waxahachie. It’s a cute little town. That being said, it’s probably grown a lot since we moved away! 😄

What a wonderful gift for your guy. I think it's important to be as gracious with your partner and they are with you. If you have the means, why not? And the gift of good coffee is priceless. One of my best thrifty finds ever was a Nespresso Essenza Mini. Works well and looks practically new. Cost only 180 ZAR, which translates to 9.95 USD. Such an incredibly fortunate find for a coffee lover.
