I had my son at 34. Alexus you will NEVER feel ready to have kids. It’s such a big responsibility that I don’t think anyone is ever TRULY ready. But when I tell you, my son saves my life a little bit every day ❤️. Best decision I ever made! You and Vante will make great parents but only if you’re sure. Don’t let anyone pressure you because ultimately YOU have to raise the child.

I had my daughter at 28 which isn’t too late . I never wanted to have kids because of my own relationship with my mother but I just adore being a mom. Motherhood is so hard but it has made me a less selfish and just better overall. Love my children so deeply they gave me real purpose.

My husband and I have been together since we were 20 and I didn’t have my daughter until 36, I went back and forth with it because I lost my mom at 26 and had to move from New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina a few months later and had to basically rebuild the only life I had ever known. I didn’t want to have a kid after that because I didn’t want my kid to feel the pain of losing me (selfish, I know) and all my friends/cousins had kids early. When I did get pregnant I almost felt the same shame as a teen mom might feel because my family was like why would you wait so late…..however, this was the best decision God made for me (I say God because I was ok with not having a baby by that point, lol). I love being a mom now and I honestly don’t think my husband and I would have made it having her when we were younger (we been through it, lol) enjoy your life and freedom and it’ll happen if and when it’s supposed to❤

I waited to have my 1st baby at 31, best decision ever. I was used to traveling the world ever other month and getting up to go and still do after the baby, you just have to plan a little more in advance. Didn’t think I wanted the responsibility of a baby but its different when it’s your baby

The fact that you are speaking on the topic about kids is spot on with how I’ve been feeling to a T. I’m 33 & still have yet to have a child/children. I’m like you I’m still a bit selfish, I enjoy being able to do what I wanna do when I want to, I like just havnt been like super convinced 100% I guess it’s something you have to actually WANT with the understanding of things completely changed. I’m always back & forth. I’ve been putting it off for as long as I could if I’m being honest.. the women around me who do have children are usually telling me to wait. But I’m also getting older.. So idk Lex.

Lex, girl, your feelings about having children are spot on!! I had my 1 and only child at 34, and I felt it was at the right time for me. I had the most fun and did all the things before having her. She is a blessing, but raising a child is hard, and everything does change. Girl, have fun, enjoy your life. If you desire and decide to have children, you will know what is right for you. Don't let anyone make you feel less than a woman for deciding not to have children. No matter what, your life will be full no matter what you decide. I love it when we get a vlog!!! Aye!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉

I had my daughter at 24. A decision I definitely do not regret. It brings another sense of maturity to your life. I was extremely selfish in my early 20s and I used to always say I never wanted children but when I had my daughter the light bulb finally went off in my head. I mean, to each its own, it’s a personal decision but I’m glad I had her. I feel like my best self and I feeling like I’m living to my full potential because she brought sooo many other blessings. BUT I will say I am ONE and DONE. I can only handle one lol

My first child I had at 21 and after having my son, we were like ok no more, we want to have fun and travel a lot as we got older. We had a big surprise when we found out I was pregnant unplanned at 28 and my husband was 30. We were shocked af and were talking about not going through with it because we planned to travel more now that its easier to find a babysitter because my son who 9 now can do everything himself just needs an adult at home but my heart couldnt do it and now my daughter is the biggest blessing. I couldnt imagine life without both of them.

You’re doing right to really think about that choice to have kids. I had mine in college before I was old enough to fully process the decision. Had I been old enough, I might not be a mama lol. I will say that after you come into this mama life it’s the most rewarding work you’ll ever do. Your kids love you to life and you’ll love them more than you ever knew you could love.

I had my son at 28, and I don’t think I was really ready then. It was unplanned. But I have always known I have wanted kids. It is a huge responsibility and life really does change because it’s not about you all the time you truly have to consider every decision with the child in mind. I love being a mom and seeing him grow. But I say the biggest thing is having a support system around you. Even being in a committed relationship can be very challenging with no help around. So just keep that in mind! Hope you make the best decision for you and not out of other people’s wants for you! ❤

I had my first at 27 & I was 29 by baby 2 but I knew I wanted kids but definitely waited because of all of the responsibilities & constantly making my patients growing. I’m the oldest out of 7, definitely baby sat a few times & just by changing siblings diapers & watching other parents I was in no rush to have them & made it clear to anybody I dated. As women it sucks we have a time line. You do have Teddy & dogs are a great introduction to being some what prepared for kids because they are a lot of responsibility. I personally stuck with cats before children, I loved how independent they are, now wouldn’t mind having dogs.

My husband and I had our first the same year we got married. I was 27 (he was 32) and now I'm a month from 29 and just had our 2nd literally a week ago (accident but we here now😅). I actually never wanted kids but then something clicked for me. I was so satisfied with being the rich auntie. Before them, we lived a very similar lifestyle to you and Vante, especially when it came to traveling. Now that they're here, of course, there are changes and life isn't as sporadic, but my 2 little broke homies just come with us, we get a baby sitter, or we just miss out. The luxury of waiting is that we both feel we aren't missing out on something bc we've "got it out of out of our system" in my early ,and his entire, 20s. I will say I knew if I didn't do it now I was not doing it in my 30s, but shout out to those that do. Whatever you decide is the best decision 😊

Hey gorgeous! Ok so! You bring up such a great topic about kids and age! I used to always want kids in my early 20s, but then went back and forth for awhile with it as I got older because I started to love my freedom and being able to get up travel, sleep when I wanted and do as I please lol. But when you get older, the thought of a family after you've enjoyed life so much hits you again...I just turned 34, I graduate from RN school in a week and we'll be welcoming our first baby in 4 weeks! I'm excited to enter this new season because it's something I've always wanted. Your thoughts are completely valid and something I battled with at your age as well LOL loooveee your channel, gworl! 💕

You just have to wake up each day & keep it pushing! However, it is truly a love like no other and even through the craziness & tiresome days, I love him more than life & I wouldn’t trade him for the world! But if you know you don’t want this life, it’s totally fine & don’t let anyone make you think otherwise!! in regards to the baby discussion lol sometimes in life we make plans & God laughs. I had my 1st last year 29 going on 30 & when I tell you I was thinking like you. I feel a lot of ppl in my generation (90’s babies) is like 50/50. Some had their children early 20’s / teens & some are 30 & beyond just having or don’t have. Like everyone saying tho you’ll never be ready but if it’s something you want & will accept go for it but don’t rush. I wanted kids I just didn’t expect for my baby girl to come when she did but me & her daddy couldn’t be happier. My life changed but when you have an amazing partner & go half on a baby with the right man you can still have moments to feel like you & do some things you enjoyed doing pre baby including travelling date nights etc.

When those Parlays hit though!! Bring me the whole lobster🤣 I’ve also always known I wanted to be a mom, but there is no shame in not wanting kids. They are a huge responsibility and a huge life changer! The villages don’t be villaging like it did when we were growing up and that’s a major factor

I waited to have my first child last year at 32. He's everything. I'm an only child so I completely understand being selfish with your time. I lost my mom in February, so my son is a Godsend. He's the only reason why I haven't lost my ish these past couple months. So God's timing is perfect and if it's in the cards for you then it'll happen if not then you'll be an amazing aunt.

Hey Lex I had my first son at 29 but before then I was very much living life and traveling! My relationship was in fact as well lol. Kids change the relationship between people sometimes not for the good. I always wanted to be a mom though it just depended on who They would be with! which is most important. I just had my 2nd right before my 36th Birthday and it was planned but it’s really just up to you and your partner. Weigh the pros and the cons and see if you can really see a life much different than the one you currently live. It’s a HUGE reward but also I BIG CHANGE and both parties have to be ready for that change. Good luck on whatever you and Vontae decide to do!

I had my daughter at 39. I wrestled with the decision towards The end of my twenties and all through my thirties until I became pregnant with her and me and my husband decided to have her. I am not going to lie. I miss the freedom, the ease of my life and the luxuries that I had created for myself. But I also love being her mom and I love the fact that when I made the decision it wasn't because I felt rushed or felt pressure from society that as a woman and because I have a uterus this is what I should be doing. It was a very informed decision and I don't regret because it was my decision. Hope that helps you.

I'm 43 and I don't have kids but pretty much all of my friends do. A couple of my friends felt the exact way you did and really didn't have a desire to have kids because they enjoyed their freedom and travels. They ended up just getting pregnant and having kids in their late 30s. So they never really changed their mind or was ready.....until actually getting pregnant. I always and still get the "awwwww you don't wanna have kids?" questions. Especially cuz of my age and being in a long term relationship. But Now I just tell ppl confidently "nah I'm good...WE'RE good." but when I was your age I'd be like "I dunno, maybe" Even tho I knew damn well I didn't want no kids lol I love em but I at the end of the day I enjoy being the fun, cool auntie ❤
