Well, this week was a lot of sitting around and waiting for Hurricane Ian to hit! Ended up only 50 miles away from us, but I'd say we got pretty lucky!

Hurricanes are no joke and sadly many lose their lives. We’ve had to evacuate a few times (Texas near the coast), and it sucks. The worst was being without power for 10 days before having a generator. Until the worst happens many don’t realize how bad it can get for them. My family’s marina was destroyed in one, boats on the highway etc. as an example. Years to repair. In the future I recommend boarding up and getting out if it’s mandatory. Never stay behind. I’m glad you and your family are safe!💜

Born and raised in Naples. Now I live in Fort myers. I was in the eye wall on this one, it was no joke. The storm surge is what was the killer. My buddy in bonita had the surge come up the imperial River. He had to break his window and get out with his dog and climb up the neighbors balcony and sleep there until the water receded. His house is totaled. The water dug under his house and blew out the concrete floor in the middle of his kitchen. Many people died on Fort myers beach. There were boats all on the streets of downtown Fort myers. I urge anybody who has a storm inbound and are in an evacuation zone to get out. The winds were bad, I believe cat 5. The weather towers all failed. But it's the surge you have to worry about. Be safe and be smart. Thank goodness for DeSantis.

Oh my god I just saw this!! I’m so glad you and your family are safe. I’ve been through a Hurricane myself. I was playing my piano when the Hurricane struck my area in New Orleans. 😊

We got lucky on the east coast. The only thing we had in South Florida was some tornados.

We had a hurricane in Nova Scotia about a week before. Lost power for a week and a few trees!

Yeah I just moved away from hurricane areas last year. They can be fun if you are with good people but they are definitely scary, destructive, and deadly.

@@sawyerhartman Thanks Sawyer. My family moved to Georgia about a year ago, so we were not there for Ian. But all my friends down there were sending me photos and videos of my hometown absolutely demolished. I lived down there for 16 years and have been through a lot of hurricanes. This one was by far the worst.. Glad to see you and your fam were safe on the other coast. My wife and I have been following y'all for years and love your content :)
