Hi Bella I just came across your channel (because I was procrastinating going to bed!) and loving your videos. I don't usually leave comments but I thought I would this time as I am Ghanaian and married to a Mauritian and we had a multicultural wedding. My advice would be that the best way to incorporate each other's culture is via food, music and attire. Food wise, have a good mixture of both your local dishes and serve it together (for example if you have a buffet, don't put one culture on one side and the other on the other side, make sure you serve it together), this way your guests will naturally try a bit of everything. Music wise, get the DJ to play a good, even mix of your local music (and please don't forget the music for the aunties and uncles) so we had Highlife which is traditional Ghanaian music and also had Sega which is traditional Mauritian music (as well as the more current music). Lastly, for the Ghanaian traditional, my husband's family wore their traditional attire and we wore our traditional attire too. I also asked my guests to wear their traditional attire which is traditional in their culture which was really nice! This really did represent the two families coming together and our friends and family standing behind us (supporting) our marriage. I hope this helps, planning a wedding is stressful but try and have fun in the process; if it helps give people assignments to do (with very specific instructions) that will help people feel involved but you still have the control 😉😏. Anyway, I shall stop procrastinating and go to bed. Good luck in your planning!
