Dear Michel! For some reason a couple of years ago your heartbreaking video where you announced your divorce popped up. Since then, I was with you when you decorated you first apartment in Austin, decluttered, cleaned, went to Antique shops, cooked Opa's soup, did car chats, cried, laughed…. I still rewatch your vlogs. Yesterday, I took a bath after a sad day and watched you decorate your patio in Austin :) Your healing journey with the help of your sweet parents and lovely Max is so beautiful and inspiring. It taught me to fell in love with my life, with myself, to travel alone, to find joy in little things. And then someday everything will make sense and fall into place. You can find happiness after dark times, you just have to go right trough them. To see you so beautiful and blissfull makes all of us sooooooo happy!!! You deserve it. You earned it. Much love from Germany. Maike :)

Screws popping out of drywall is quite common after new builds and renovations. I was told this would happen when I renovated my kitchen and to plan on touching them up. I was told it would take about a year for any screws that were going to pop to pop and not to do anything expensive like wallpaper or paint finishes until after the year. Just patch it up with some spackle (thats what I did) followed with paint and your lime wash.

Typically happens if screws were put in too deep, along with the normal expanding & contracting that the wood does.

Sweetheart, don't you worry about "too much wedding content." I will take it all. I will watch it all. You've been through so much over the last few years, and to see you marry a man who loves you and cares for you and takes care of you.... girl, I love seeing it! So, you go right ahead and post all the wedding content you like, I'll watch it, and I don't think I'm the only one! And I don't care how long it takes for the extended version of your wedding video, I'll watch that too!

Hi Michel. Re the screws/ damage on the wall. I'm pretty sure that these are the screws holding together your plasterboard. It's quite common for the plaster on top of these screws top 'pop off' over time because plaster, chipboard and metal expand and contract differently with changes in temperature and humidity and it doesn't mean there's any structural problem with the house. The higher 'bulge' is probably above a screw too so I would scrape out that bit of plaster and fill in the holes with a little filler (in the UK we use Polyfilla but I'm not sure what the US equivalent is - maybe ask at Home Depot?). I hope you had a lovely honeymoon. 😃

Your indoor tree is a Ficus Benjamina. It’s fine. They tend to loose leaves when moved to different light conditions. The new leaves will be better adjusted to the current situation. Be careful not to water too much when there are minimal leaves as it won’t be using much water. 🌺
@CapsuleKnits
@CapsuleKnits 6 ай бұрын
Hard to be sure, but I think your tree is a Ficus benjamina, commonly known as a weeping fig. If that’s true, the falling leafs can come from two things: did the leafs turn yellow before falling? Than it’s either too much or too less water. I would recommend watering every two weeks. The more probable cause is the location change. Although Benjamini plants are known for being capable of living in numerous conditions, they hate change. So if it’s just too much for them they often get rid of there greenery and just start fresh. Makes them relatable on my opinion 😉.

Girl, you're glowing. Marriage looks lovely on you. Welcome home! Also, in a humid environment, drywall studs absorb moisture and expand. Then when it's dry, they release moisture. Over time, all of this contracting and expanding can cause them to POP! Is it something your day-job friend can fix when you need a full day of tasks for him?

The spots on the wall are called nail pops. They can happen for a lot of reasons. Changes in the temperature, construction in the area, settlement in the foundation, large changes in the weight, movement in the house (Wedding After Party) or ground movement (CA). The only way to fix them is to patch and repaint. You are very crafty, you should be able to faux paint the patches. Hope this helps.

Google search says the possible reasons the crews are popping out of the wall are as follows; incorrect length of drywall screws. Screws were driven in too deep. House settling. Studs drying out after a period of high moisture or humidity. Drywall drying out after a period of high moisture or humidity. Drywall and/or studs are old. Apparently unless there are dozens of screw heads popping out then its nothing major to worry about. Hope that helps.

This happened in a barre studio I was teaching at! It had been renovated to open, and after a few years the main hallway wall had some spots that seemed it was “settling” and the drywall looked just like this. Similarly, we had a hand painted art piece on that wall so it was going to be a pill to fix 🥲
@robinmiller2002
@robinmiller2002 6 ай бұрын
The nails popping out from your drywall are due to the foundation settling, usually. The recent heavy rains have probably caused foundation to shift a bit, and the new strain on the walls has pushed a few nails out. If you are concerned, reach out to a contractor to see if you have concerning foundation changes after the rains! I know your retaining wall failed this winter, maybe it is connected. Homeownership is a TRIP!!! Good luck!

Wow- I had to back the vlog up when you said you went to Maine on your honeymoon. As someone born and raised in MA and am now living in NH (NOT by choice- I HATE the long winters in New England), I was *shocked.*. I would give my right arm to go to CA, nevermind honeymoon there. Plus, you went to Europe- I would consider THAT a honeymoon destination. Funny how we see the grass as greener on the other side.

Hi Michel! Indoor Plant.....because of it's braided trunk, I am going to say it's a braided money tree. In my experience with money trees, they LOVE direct sunlight. I had one in my bedroom - away from the window, died within a month. My new tree (I have one much smaller in size than yours) sit's on my desk, next to the window and it is thriving. It also doesn't love a lot of water - at least not every day water. I typically water my plant once a week and maybe give it a 1/4 cup. Yours is much larger though, so ask google. Good Luck 🍀

I’ve lived in 3 new construction house and in all of them we had random screws pop up in the wall like yours did. When they did it would be literally over night. We aren’t sure either. Maybe work was done on that walk before you bought the house. My husband thinks it’s settling of the house but not sure. If you are having construction maybe talk to the workers and ask them they may be of help.

The small picture of the girl looks great in the top right corner. I wonder if your ducks picture would fill in the area on the bottom right corner. Then I think the gallery wall would be complete. Great job! And welcome back! I look forward to your videos, and really enjoyed the wedding videos. So happy for you and Jordy!

So glad you are feeling better. Norovirus (stomach flu) has been running rampant in the Northeast here.

I think it’s mandatory to get sick on your honeymoon 🤣 My husband and I both got so sick on ours. We were in Greece and had to act out what medicine we needed at the pharmacy as we had no idea how to explain what we needed in Greek. Thankfully the pharmacy was so kind and was able to help! Also-please keep all the wedding content coming! It’s never too much!

I think the small picture is perfect there by itself. I love the design of that wall. Also, I know that nail pops happen over time as a home settles but kinda weird that it was so much aft3r only 1 day. Im so glad ur back full on! Missed u❤❤❤

When you said your honeymoon was in a cold climate I just thought Maine. My in-laws are from Kennebunkport. Such a beautiful place. Thank you for your video. Would love to see more Wedding videos!!

Maine in February brrrrr. But on our February honeymoon we went to the Poconos. Freezing but fun. Snowmobiling, tried skiing. Lots of fun.

Michel, the White Barn is my favorite! I was just there in November and January! Did you eat in the main dining room and the little barn? The attention to detail is amazing… my husband and I have been going there for years! We live about hour and 1/2 away! Did you eat at the Boat House? I am so happy you had a great honeymoon! Love from Boston ❤❤❤❤

The last time I was in Maine I ended up getting food poisoning from eating at a Brewery in Saco. I spent the last day & a half in bed & the drive home was brutal. So sorry you were sick with the flu 🫤
