Great walk thru. I too own the R5 Mark II and struggled with AE lighting until I made a change in the menu (RED 2). I turned Detect priority AE while AF, off. What I noticed was that the AE adjsutment was too dramatic (and slow) when I was in frame and then moved out of frame. With this turned on AE is based on your face, the point of AF, when in scene then shifts to Evaluative (my default) when you are out of frame. When left off, Evaluative (my default) is used all the time and I can manually adjust exposure for my face. Not sure if this would address your issue. Enjoy your videos. Thanks.

Hey Mark! Thanks so much for this detailed comment, it sounds like this might resolve the issue I was having with the auto exposure. I'll give it a try for sure and see if it's any better. Really appreciate your support and hope you are creating some great work with the R5ii!

if you put subject detection to None, it would focus on the closest object like 'product showcase mode'. the exposure is changing due to the bright background and shirt, its best to use manual mode.

Thanks so much, I'll have to give this a try! Completely agree on manual mode with the strong backlight, it's just weird that much more basic cameras like the Osmo Pocket 3 can handle those situations in auto mode but the R5ii struggles.
