I would add - it would benefit greatly to have the best camera and an expensive camera. Something that shoots RAW would be great but expensive!!!!... Full frames have the sensor as big as the frame... which will let in more light, and have less noise... you get more information per frame. The more high quality information you get with each frame of what you are shooting, the better you can color correct, and control your compositing and tracking with the footage.

I have the Nikon D750 and it's perfect for filmmaking, but I'm looking for something with an AutoFocus that is pretty good. I'm new to the filming stuff and unless I'm missing something filming with manual when a person is moving is really hard! My Nikon in Auto Focus with keep going back and forth and you can hear the motor on the lens trying to find focus.. So you know any Dedicated Video Camera that could be good? Looking for short films, high quality as far as maybe recording 4k maybe access to 120fps and lower.. Also having access to mount to gimbals so I can record steady.

Might be worth mentioning that some cheap cameras record using a Variable Bit Rate(VBR) which some versions of Premiere can't cope with properly as the audio / video slowly goes out of sync. I worked around this by using Handbrake to convert to CBR before importing to Premiere... unless someone else knows a workaround for this? Additionally I'm looking for a DSLR without this hurdle but not a lot of manufacturers appear to list anything beyond basic resolution against video specifications.

Well... I have a DSLR, my phone and an older camera and they all work fine. However, shooting With DSLR gives me the best video (when I'm Lucky With my settings). But whenever i shoot indoors my videos becom wery noisy. I have been testing different settings With ISO but cant seem to get around it some how. What should I do? Maybe you one day could make a DSLR tutorial (I have seen the shutter angle video), but I need MORE!!! :D Greetings from Gisle :)

Hey Gisle, the graininess comes from a high ISO - which your camera will likely automatically increase if you don't have enough light in your scene. One way around this is to open up your aperture (low aperture number) so that you can keep your ISO low. I am planning on making a video for removing noise from video where I will touch on this. The best option: add more lights into your scene, if that's not possible: use the largest aperture available (I often shoot at f/2.8 or f/1.4 if there's low light - and don't use auto ISO :)

Thanx alot! That actually made some sence in my twisted little mind. I will try it out. I think my ISO is set to Auto, however I have set the Maximum ISO to 1600. I will try to disable the auto and try. My D5100 is growing old, but I dont wanna spend Money on a New one until I get the hang of it :)

shiiv nayak it depends on what you're looking for. I've noticed Canon tends to have a more cinematic look in comparison to Nikons. I've used a Sony camera, and the particular model I used was not at all user friendly. I can't remember what one it was specifically, but the footage looked amazing. But yeah, check out test footage too see what you like best.
