Yes, Austin nailed it. He gives himself completely here and also plays very well with the cameras. The great harmonies, deep bass and the unbelievably freaking good beatboxing/vocal percussion/vocal sounds finish it all off for me. I think it sounds perfect because of all the different beautiful voices. I grew up performing Percy Sledge which I already loved. Then came Michael Bolton's performance where I couldn't say for sure if it was better or not. But this one from Home Free certainly is.

Yes, Austin made this his own! I grew up with the many versions of this song, and this one blows them away. Adam’s beatboxing is spot on, Tim (as always) grounds them with his incredible bass, and Chance and Rob nail the harmonies. And I really enjoyed your reaction to Austin’s high notes! FYI: In a burst of brilliance, Austin’s fiancé was next to the cameraman during this, giving his performance an even more personal expressiveness that was amazing. Percy Sledge was phenomenol! Michael Bolton, I really didn't care for his version with all of the screaming of words; BUT, HOMEFREE was, by far, the best rendition of this song that I have heard! Tim's bass and Adam's drums really held it tightly together! They are my favorite Acapello group; no one else comes close to them!!! Thanks for this wonderful reaction! Percy Sledge originally recorded this in 1966. It went to #1 overnight. Was very popular with the guys in Vietnam. He sang it for his girlfriend Liz King, who had left him. Sadly he didn't get her back. RIP Brother, thanks for the memories.

This video was done during the quarantine, with the five separate from each other, either in a studio or a space in his home set aside as a studio. I think Austin was in a studio,, with only the guy on the soundboard and his lovely lady Amberly in house. I mean, who do you think all those flirtatious looks were directed at? I always recommend checking out Austin Brown's solo number Take the Night Off after this one to see the love and playfulness between the couple.

These guys are all so amazing! I love them separately, but prefer them all together. They all killed this song. Austin never ceases to amaze me. I find myself listening for all his ad libs in every song they do. Adams beatboxing never disappoints and i always have to remind myself that he is making the sounds. Tim's bass guitar sounds cannot be matched and compliment Adams drum sounds so beautifully. And I love Rob and Chance's voices, like a fine wine and smooth cheese. These guys are AMAZING!!! Each and everyone of them is so very talented. Austin, Rob and Tim do most of the solo work but you have to give a Adam and Chance their dues. Adam's beat boxing is beyond, beyond, but he also has a great voice. Chance, when Tim is soloing carries the bass so well. On the few solo parts he has had he really shines also. On Mayday when he hits the " Tim" notes, on Brothers In Arms, and Helplessly Hoping it is just so good. I can't wait to see more reactions from you to their music.
