Vlogmas 2018 - Day 9 - Windsor Farm Shop, Christmas Movies & Gingerbread house

Happy Vlogmas 2019 Luke and Rich!! You both are doing another incredible job this year and making us US-based Anglo-Files very happy in highlighting your local Christmas locations and sharing your own personal traditions! Love that Windsor Farm shop and hope you again this year go to your local garden center. They are so festive and big over in the UK and here in the US they really do not do anything special for the holidays! I am showing my age, but think you would love some of these classic black and white holiday movies as well! It's a Wonderful Life(1947), The Bishop's Wife(1948), Come To The Stable(1949), Christmas In Connecticut(1945) and my favorite adaption of A Christmas Carol, Scrooge(1951) with Alastair Sim. They are all well written, well acted and very heartwarming and filled with hope and joy!! They are movies that loving and compassionate people like you two would really enjoy!! Keep up the phenomenal job you are doing and Godspeed to you both!!

I got to see a season of the Vocor and loved it! My classics are the original Bishops Wife, Its a Wonderful Life, all Christmas Carols and have added Arthur's Christmas. I never miss Charlie Brown's Christmas. I love Vlogmas.☺

It is one of the most peaceful places I know and will always hold a very special place in my heart. I love sitting up by the Copper horse and watching the Deer before heading to my Granddads tree (planted in his name upon his passing, we had to get Royal approval to do the).

Loved going to the Farm Shop and Windsor. My cousin lives there, her husband was a gardener in Windsor Great Park. Love your selection of Christmas movies but I am going to suggest some truly old classics. Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol, many made and we like them all but the Alistair Simms rendition and the George C Scott versions are our favorite plus The Muppets and even a Mickey mouse rendition are most enjoyable. The Shop around the corner, 1930ish,great story. The Bishops Wife, nineteen forties, It's a Wonderful life,Christmas in Connecticut, It Happened on Fifth avenue, all forties era. Corny in some ways but quite lovely in many ways.

You have to include Elf and White Christmas. WC is a classic from the 50's but so wonderful. Also I recommend the new Grinch film. I took my 1st graders and they loved it as did I. It has a great message about kindness.

If you haven’t seen Elf or A Christmas Story those are so great! A must watch every year for our family. Here in America a tv channel plays A Christmas Story for 24 hours on Christmas Day.

I have some of the same Christmas films, but I also love Elf, While You Were Sleeping (not entirely Christmas, but I still have it with my Christmas films) and tv specials The Flint Street Nativity and Bernard and the Genie (The latter one is really hard to get hold of and my copy is an old video converted to DVD, but it's not Christmas without it!) Have to watch The Raymond Briggs Father Christmas cartoon on Christmas eve, and The Snowman on Christmas day! I love farm shops, I started a new tradition last year to do a farm shop crawl on Christmas eve as there are a lot around here!

Yes , check out "A Christmas Story". It is set in the 50s about a cute little boy who wants a BB gun. When it originally came out, which was the early 80s, I don't think many people in the US saw it, but now it is a bit of a cult classic. Some stations in California play in on constant repeat, during the holidays. You can probably find the DVD on Amazon. It is definitely one to check out!

One of the movies I watch every Christmas is called "Home for the Holidays" directed by Jody Foster and stars Holly Hunter & Robert Downey Jr. if you have ever had to deal with a crazy dysfunctional family at the holidays you might enjoy it.
