Jen, A very Merry Christmas to you and your family. The kids clearly enjoyed opening their presents and they were so polite, remembering to say Thank You. Sometimes a more relaxed slower paced celebration is more enjoyable for everyone. At the last minute we had to postpone Christmas until New Years Day. The 40” of snow melting together with the 2” of rain overnight, flooded our backyard and our leach field, so we had no bathrooms😞. Once I quit crying😀, I realized that my sons, who are both in their 40s were fine with it. Just a typical finish for 2020. But now we have something to look forward to😀🎄. I’m just grateful that we have all stayed safe and healthy. Wishing you, Adam and the kids a blessed 2021.

HI ! I make the caramel corn using Old Dutch brand puff corn(recipe on their bag) - My local brand-I'm inMN. For me I have to use a large roasting pan. Even an aluminum one works, but it is easier to stir if you have a big pan. And I find it so sweet that a few not-fully-coated pieces make for good sweet/saltly balance. Love your videos!

I make caramel corn too. My recipe calls plain popped corn. Initially the caramel sauce does not cover all the popcorn, but it then bakes at 250 for an hour total, but each 15 min interval, you pull out the pan and quickly give it a stir. It’s time consuming, but turns out with everything well coated and crunchy.

First of all, your kids are adorable! Keira and her cookies btw are perfect! We had the kids and grandkids over for a early Christmas last week. Connor reminded me of them and how excited they got when they opened their gifts. Your maid-rites look like what I grew up with as “loose meat sandwiches” . When my parents were gone, my brother and I would walk downtown(small town) to the Bungalow. They had a big pit in the middle where the meat was steamed. They served them in true form. Warm bun, mustard only with loose meat wrapped in wax paper and served in a red plastic basket 😂.

Cheerios, shreddies, pretzels, cheese bites, lots of mixed nuts and peanuts... then the butter mixture of lots of butter, Worcestershire sauce, celery, onion, and garlic salts. He’s been gone almost 11 years. I make it every year now for our family. Xo 🎄🤶

I have never heard of a Maid-rite, but will definately try! It is fun to see recipes from different parts of the country, I grew up in the deep south and my Mom added french dressing instead of the vinegar. Jen, I have not made caramel corn with pre popped popcorn like you used, but when I make mine I always have the oven set to about 200 degrees and keep the popped corn in it so that it is warm when I put the caramel over it. My mother-in-law taught me to do it like that and it does work pretty well.

Omg’sh, I have that same yellow bowl that you put the puff popcorn in. My Grandma always used the same bowl in her kitchen when I grew up, so I have the same. Must be an Iowa thing..lol Don’t feel bad about the sugar cookies, because they’re sooo much work!! Oh mylanta, I decided to make them for both of my daughters, well for my Grandloves really, because both of my daughters work full time too, so I made almost 14 dozen this year, of the cut outs, and decorated a bunch myself too. It’s a job and a half..Lol It is a weird year! I thought wrapping presents was extremely taxing as well. Thankfully it’s over!! 😂🤣😂

Merry Christmas to you and your family!
