I’m the one who always makes gravy. Stir a little cornstarch into 2 tablespoons of water, should be a little thin. Stir into stock. If it doesn’t thicken do again. Add garlic salt, bouillon cubes (2-3), 1/2 teaspoon worstershire sauce (not too much or it will just taste like worstershire sauce). A few sprinkles of black pepper. I always taste to see what it needs more of. Once I had to make gravy at my dad’s and had to wing it cuz he had almost nothing. It turned out great to my surprise. You can use flour to thicken but it takes longer. Always put thickener in a cup and when you add to stock make sure you are stirring to avoid lumps.

I always do a gammon/ham for Christmas 🎄 it’s a firm tradition in our house! I do buy a smoked joint as we ❤ the flavour. I then stick the cloves into the rind, smother it in honey 🍯 & then cook accordingly - delicious 😋 Great vlog ❤ xx

Stuffing, i use me late mother recipe sage & onion stuffing, cut & dice a onion, use the water from the boiled onion, to mix in sage & onion with the boiled diced onion, then add sausage meat, put in a greased tin cook in over 30 mins with tin foil then a extra 10 mins with foil taking off to brown off the top of stuffing mix 👌👌👌 delish 😘

Gammon is clearly a British term, because in the US, I think we would just call that ham. 😂 i’m used to gravy being made from the remnants left from cooking a roast and not made on its own apart from the roast. Maybe that’s another American thing. Anyway, I’m glad the second attempt at the gravy was a success.

Just wondering why you took off the pork skin,isn’t that the crackling part?
@clairehaigh461210 ай бұрын
A gammon joint is a bit different. Because it’s been slowed cooked in liquid the skin goes like a jelly sponge and won’t turn into crackling so you just take it off and add a glaze to the fat underneath instead.
@TheLodgeGuys10 ай бұрын
Yes think as it was slow cooked it wasn't right for crackling
