The Bella dress from Tessuti patterns sounds like what you described. Might be too a-line but would be great to hack. It used to be a free pattern but not sure now. And for gathering, best thing I ever bought was a gathering foot, I even have one for my Pfaff overlocker. Makes those ruffles so easy!!!

It's good to hear you are feeling a little better today. Poor Martin's recovery may take a little longer. I enjoyed the scenery during your walk with Piper. It reminded me of where I grew up in a little village in Scotland. Your dress looks lovely and I do love your black sparkly material. Although I am not into workouts at gyms, I admire those who do. Congratulations on only spending £30. 😊 ❤❤ 🇦🇺

That dress turned out really well. I like the square neckline, it's just a bit different from other dresses. I actually mostly wear dresses in winter and hardly ever wear trousers. The trick is to wear thermals both tops and tights under dresses. I get mine from M&S but I don't know whether they will fit you length wise. I'm 5ft2" and they're a little long on me but not sure hiw they'd fit you.

Well done, Rachel, for going to the gym! I completely understand how you were feeling. I’m 67 and joined the gym a year ago (last time there was 20 years ago 😬). A sat outside for ages, felt completely sick! Still feel a little self conscious but I’m getting there 😊❤

Don't worry about the sewing room. Can tidy after the Christmas hub bub. Mine turns into a tip running up to Christmas. Making gifts for friends and family, crochet lap blankets for the Hospital Foundation, something for the neighbours with a card, and on and on. I love how you bought some lovely sparkly fabric to whip up a holiday dress. So Rachel. Love it. I need casual wear/outdoor clothes where I live, so that's what I make. Occasionally something to wear to an event.

Glad things wet well at the gym! Your Christmas dress will be lovely. Are you making something for Martin for Chrtistmas this year? Just wondering how much you need to finish by Christmas Eve when the rest of the family arrive. The dress you made today is beautiful! Glad we got a longer video today... you're spoiling your viewers!

Would your Nico pattern be in with your WIPs, Rachel? That's usually where I find things when they are "misplaced " 😅😊 also with regards to being cold when wearing dresses, I invested in some really nice thermals and that worked for me and actually warmer and comfier than jeans and jumper 😊

Could you add a lower elastic channel to get that faux shirred look that's everywhere at the minute?? I hate the gym but force myself to go and I do look/feel better lifting weights!

Well done getting to the gym. I hate running on the treadmill and running in general. I’d much rather row 5k than run 5k but I find listening to an audiobook transports you into a different time zone. I guess a podcast would work too. I could do with joining the gym again before the post Christmas rush. I want to concentrate on flexibility and increasing stamina before working on weight bearing exercises. I used to be the ‘cold one’ but since menopause started sneaking in I quite like to be able to suddenly shed a few layers! 😊 Remember to take time out to just chillax and maybe meditate a bit, it helps… x

You’ll just have to exhaust yourself properly at the gym so you’re not in a mood to shop anymore. That should be quite the workout! 🤣😉

Thanks for yet another great vlog ❤I love relaxing on the couch in the evenings and watching your vlog. CN I give you a quick advice, just wipe your lens before you start filming it make a huge difference. Please don’t take this as a complaint, it’s just a friendly advice ❤

Hello Rachel, about being cold, I find warm underwear (type of what you wear for skying) very useful as you can wear in winter under normal dresses. There are also the tights we find now everywhere which have velvetty fur inside and look like normal tights. Have 2 pairs, they are great, I highly recommend them. Great vlogmas as usual 😉

The gym sucks. I hate exercising I hate everything about it. My daughter and son in law are both PT's & power lifters.. Gahhhh..... It's amazing how much they can lift. Blows me away. My fitness room is right next door to our condo... Like right-next-door. I go in often to take advantage of the mirrors. Bahaha Although the fitness room has ever piece of imaginable equipment know to man.... Im usually on the rowing machine. Download a podcast of about an hour (murder& mayhem, crime etc) and row about an hour. Go home and enjoy a glass of something to celebrate that I've actually done some fitness. Post meno. Bone density, osteoporosis, arthritis, knees...wrists sucks to have a body not cooperating.

Love your Vlogmas. I just have a quick question: I have been wondering does Martin drink the beers warm? Or is that part of your home cooler. Just curious. I can only drink beer if it is ice cold and I only have some then in the boiling hot Summer. Lol. Happy Vlogmas!

Yeah I think it's odd to drink them room temp

The sewing room is quite cool so the cans aren't warm. I always drink beer chilled but for vlogmas I open them to let people know what they are like as people have asked in previoud years.
