Thank you for your inspiration I have sewn so many Maison Fauve on repeat. I want to try the sweater out, have done 4 tempte and love them. I have a mean brain and wake at 4.30 each morning and make an outfit for the day. Love that I have found my tribe.

I made a Christmas jumper for my bestie too - I used the toaster sweater - and , like you, gifted it earlier in the month so she would get lots of wear during December 😊 fortunately it fits well and she loves it 🎄

Speeded video was fun to watch -- no hesitation for straight of grain or folding and re-checking. Takes me so long to be sure every cut is correct! I guess knits don't need straight grain though.... You definitely are an accomplished sewist and so creative!

Thank you so much. I just have a sense of the straight grain is the honest truth, the fabric doesn’t cut right if it’s not straight, I am visually checking but you can’t see that speeded up so much 😅❤️

Hi Cara! Yes, I wish parts of my multiple makes could also be sped up! My darling boy is home and I've been giving him lots of love and trying not to smother him, haha. He is the light of my world for sure. Oh my goodness! Your Ressac sweatshirts and your lucky friends look amazing! They will wear them every year and think of your generosity and beautiful friendship. You are such a special person. I love your advice on sewing levels. When I first started sewing, the By Hand London Rumana Coat came out and I fell in love with it and wanted to make it. At this point my most difficult make had been a circle skirt! I just went for it. It took me over a week, but with some help from By Hand London's sew along blogs, I did it. It's not perfect, the lining is definitely wonky, but I think it's my proudest make. I don't even look at what sewing level a pattern is for. If you like it, make it! You'll figure it out.

Hi Rita how lovely that your son is home! Ah that must feel so special. Do you all adapt straight away or does it take time? Thank you for your kind words about the jumpers, it felt so special to gift them something so unique and me made. I hope they wear them, but I also just need to let myself go after I’ve gifted. It felt special to me in that moment. What happens post that is in their hands, not mine, so if they choose not to wear them. My moment of hand over still felt wonderful x

@@sosewmad I think some people who do not sew think 'Handmade' means lower quality or don't understand what goes into the making of the gift or the time and expense. I know exactly how you feel. I've made some wonderful wallets, purses, and garments for family and friends that I never see them using. I wish they'd just give them back to me, lol. But you are right, we've given something that makes us proud and we've given a piece of ourselves. We have to leave it at that. I love that giving makes you feel wonderful! But your friends looked thrilled. I know they appreciate you in every way. My son grew up I our house so each time he comes home he fits right back in. The only adjustment is our grocery bill!

Cara thank you for inspiring me with your enthusiasm for Maison Fauve patterns and finished clothes. I already made 3 pieces and love them. My question for the advent calendar, what was your worst piece of clothing assembly and what did you do with that piece?

Great question. Unfortunately me and my tiny ears just can’t get on with earrings, I try clip on ones but they too aren’t great and just hurt x
