I loved your figgy pudding part. As a Brit, it was such a surprise to see Americans eating it! Dried fruit, alcohol, spices and sugar would have been available midwinter in medieval Britain. I think it's one of those things that are traditional, and you just grow up with as part of Christmas. I never did like it, so I'm the family oddball.
@IsseyHawker16 күн бұрын
In the UK we call it Christmas pudding. It might be a bit old fashioned but most families always have it to end the Christmas dinner. Usually served with some kind of pouring cream

I hadn’t heard the saying “can’t see the forrest through the trees “ then Tyler said it the other day in vlogmas and I thought it seemed profound and then days later I heard it in a song. Definitely something to keep in mind for me personally, as I can get caught up focusing on the details of something and miss the bigger picture. I love when life does things like that with concepts that we seem to need to hear and have reiterated ❤

Was the song by any chance, “Lose Control” by Teddy Swims? I remember that line too. Just discovered his music this past month or so. ❤
@daratiffany841216 күн бұрын
@ yes! I’ve listened to this song so many times in the past few months and never noticed that line and then I was like “wait!! That’s in this song?” Such a good song and great line!
@francescaagogo16 күн бұрын
@@daratiffany8412 Since I’m more detail-oriented and am an over-thinker, that line reminds me to “see the bigger picture.” 🙂

I’m a Brit, so Christmas Pudding or Figgy Pudding is a must every Christmas. We always eat it with either brandy butter and/or double cream. When it’s well-made, it’s delicious, but you have to like dried fruits, nuts and booze! I’m just loving your vlogs and watch every year ❤

See I live in Arizona where it doesn’t get cold but for us 60°F or lower is cold. So I usually wear a jacket or sweater if I’m going outside but sometimes it gets hot later on in the day so you have to either take off your jacket or just keep it on😅 especially when I was in school it would be annoying having to carry around a jacket and not need it

Glad to hear you say there's no bad weather only bad clothing. I live in the UK where it rains a lot... We once had planned a BBQ in the summer, it rained, but we did it anyway. Someone had brought along some Americans who said "in America, even it rains, we stay inside" to which we responded, if we did that here we would never do anything.

This was a lovely wee vlog! First, figgy pudding is better known as Christmas pudding over here and we usually have it at the end of our Christmas lunch/dinner. When I was wee my Granda would hide 20 pence pieces in the pudding. It was an extra wee gift on Christmas. There was always the danger of choking on the coin though! But, it was the 80’s, so it was all good 😂. Also, Scotland’s first son of comedy - Sir Billy Connelly - is famously quotes over here as saying “In Scotland, there is no such thing as bad weather - only the wrong clothes.” As someone who lives is west central Scotland I can honestly say it rains here more than we see the sun, so a cagoule is an essential item of clothing!!

Brit here 👋 We call it Christmas Pudding over here, but it’s exactly the same thing. Very popular, most people will have it for dessert on Christmas Day. I’m personally not a fan though! Normally quite a strong taste of brandy or rum as it’s made well in advance of Christmas Day (4-6 weeks) and is fed with alcohol weekly.
