I could see you doing something similar to Hannah Louise Poston, she tries things but she doesn’t add them all to her curated collection. She decides if things are good enough to stay in her forever collection or just passed on right away so things don’t expire. Much love. I purchase far less than I used to. Like many others during the COVID lockdown I took the time to try products, play with makeup tutorials and refine my skincare routine. Now that I know what I like, my makeup and skincare collection is only things I actually use. The type of video I enjoy most now is a “shop my stash” type that shows me how to try new looks or get the most out of what I already own.

I used to buy so much makeup when I used to watch so much makeup haul videos and tutorials but I don’t even wear makeup that much then they get old and expire. The past few years I’ve cut back on buying makeup and just buying refills when I need them. Started to buy minis because sometimes I don’t even get through full size items

Hi Jess, I have to say as I have watched you over the past 3 years, you influenced my makeup journey. I love makeup and have sonce early high school, I'm now 30 . I feel like when I found you 3 years, you influenced me to go more neutral and simple in my makeup. I used to do a lot more colorful eye looks in my late teens and early 20s. But as I got more mature, I started to shift more to neutral makeup. I do feel like watching you help with that.

I love your declutters! But, I think I’m in the same stage of life where I’m tired of being overwhelmed with stuff I don’t use. Though my collection was not as large as yours, I have greatly downsized it to things I use and love, although it is still more than I really need. I am planning on doing a no-buy for 6 months starting in January. I only wear makeup maybe half the days of the month, so I don’t even need as much as I have.

For hard pan just take a piece of scotch tape and tap the sticky side on the hard pan and it removes it! May take a few pieces of tape but it gets it all off!

Jess I wonder if recording quick reviews (even shorts) of meh products and constantly battling for the Jammy awards would not only be a good way to keep track of stuff you want to declutter, but also help more people find you? You could even keep a spot for ONE of each category of product. I find a lot of people when I search certain products. I bet that Dior blush was just too warm for your skin tone. .

The same as me..I love make up but now that I am a mom l, I noticed that I only use concealer. I feel like I don't have time to blend foundation. With my lip products, my go to lip products are tinted lip balm.
