Vlogmas Day 21 🪡 I worked on 2 jackets

This week I've done quite a lot of beading. I've started doing the top layer of the floral jacket but the beads in that one are a bit dull so I also worked on the bright green beading for the Paris jacket.

YOU KNOW WHAT? I CANT STAND YOU RIGHT NOW BECAUSE YOU ARE INSPIRING ME! THIS LAYOUT OF THE JACKET LOOKS SO SIMPLE TO CUT OUT AND MAKE AND THE POSSIBILITIES OF DESIGNING IT ARE ENDLESS! OH WOW! AMAZING! I FREAKIN LOVE IT! YEAH! KEEP ON! YOU GONNA MAKE ME START GARMENT SEWING IN THE NEW YEAR! (and my cousin been harping at me to make some garments too! but the thing is, for me is space! i don't have enough space or a good table to lay out fabric to cut out patterns. i have a somewhat small table for me to cut out patterns for tote bags, and crossbody bags. Ah, maybe one day, the sewing angels should bless me! )

I know what you mean. It's so annoying trying to cut out pattern pieces when you don't have enough room. So frustrating!

It does take a really long time to do the beading but you can just do a few threads each day. I often do an hour or two on a project when I can... eventually it gets done. I have a tutorial on beading from a while back. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nnyQi5WZZbVoha8

i am thinking about this clutch purse that i saw in one of my all time favorite classic movies from the 1930's "Trouble in Paradise" (check it out) it was fabulous! the beading is just like the beading on your jackets.

Thank you! Yes, the two jackets are both very different. Doing the bright green fun beads gives me a break and lets me have the patience required for the detailed floral jacket.

That gray jacket is bonkers perfect! I’ve been meaning to ask what the significance of the triangle shape is? It’s a theme that you repeat! Why not other shapes if you are bored of beading the overall twead pattern. But you could do waves of color?! Not sure if I’ve missed a wave jacket cause you’ve done so much with this. It’s delightful to watch your creativity! ❤❤❤

If you look up ‘inverted triangles’ there are several meanings depending on the context used. Not my thing, but I understand some people want to make a point but in a way that’s visual and not words. 🤷‍♀

I guess you can not use shoulder bags because it would destroy the beading on the shoulders. When you stitch the beads, do you stitch a second stitch or make a knot after each bead to keep a whole line of them from coming off if the thread breaks when wearing it?

Yes, every bead is stitched on twice. When you wear tweed jackets, you can't put your bag on your shoulder anyway, it would wreck the tweed. You can out the bag on first, then the jacket or just carry it.
