We've had a Christmas village for years, my husband has some buildings from his childhood. We have collected a few new things over the years to grow the village. We named it Tiny Town, and then started to add trees, benches, fake snow and townspeople. Then things got out of hand where we had a mayoral race, a coup with picketers (including small signs I had them hold with tiny text phrases) and created a town newspaper where we would write articles about town scandals. It became both ridiculous and hilarious, so highly encourage you to build your own Braunville 😂

I built up my Christmas village from thrift stores. I love it so much. It has a Chinese food restaurant. And because all of it was so inexpensive, my daughter was allowed to actually play with it, which is now one of her favorite Christmas time memories. She's 12 now and begging me to set it up!

My grandmother has the most amazing Christmas village that she has been adding to for over 40 years.... the first piece was a church she painted at a ceramics class and now she has over 50 buildings (not pieces, BUILDINGS) and it takes her weeks to put it up on custom built tiered shelves that my grandfather built her to fit it into their big living room window. Every part of it has a story.... from the lighthouse that reminds them of trips to Maine to a grove of maple trees and a maple syrup cart with pails of sap like my grandfather does since retirement. It brings our family such joy every year. ❤🎄☃️

Growing up, we collected the Department 56 Dicken’s Village. We would get my dad a new building every year. He even built a white wooden platform, painted streets on it, and drilled holes for the cords so it looked just like a little town. He’s since passed away, but I’m so grateful that I now own the collection because it makes me think of him! ❤ loving the vlogs!

OK, anybody else remember the countdown clock from Tyler doing the downstairs bathroom remodel. And subsequent count ... up (?) clock after the date came and went? Who else wants to lobby for one of those babies attached the 2023 Vlogmas vids showing days remaining for England videos upload? And then a count up clock come January. That way we can tease him come next Christmas - and have an official number of days counter! Like, is it really Christmas if Tyler hasn't broken out the carpet cleaner? Christmas traditions. : ) I hope you know this is all in good fun, Tyler. But it would be funny.

My Grandma had a village. It was under her tree. She put the tree up on a base (I believe a metal box fan) and used a white tree skirt. This created a snowy mountain village! The people were all metal and hand painted. They were definitely from before my time. She even made a cardboard tin foil frozen pond for the people with ice skates. We have two daughters now in their 20’s and when they were toddlers, we started getting them each a piece of a Christmas village to build up complete sets for when they moved out on their own. They would set them up in their room when young and looked forward to getting a new piece each year. I teach 5th grade and this year one of my students actually started me out with two pieces to start a classroom village. How exciting!!!! I was very selective about the pieces I purchased and once I had my whole china cabinet filled up, I stopped. I decided to set it up in the cabinet because they are so expensive and I would have been heartbroken if something happened to them.
