As much as this is a lovely idea for you kids, I wish we could normalise just getting a chocolate advent calendar each year, Christmas is becoming more expensive due to the trends on social media, it’s a shame for the children who may watch this and feel slight sadness that they may not get this as well.

Just a suggestion but maybe you could tissue paper to wrap small gifts. I have tried this as a blind person. And find it so much quicker, particularly for small gifts that are eyes going into a gift bag, stocking etc. Save you cut in the paper a lot of the time and tissue paper so much easier to cold etcetera. Hi kayleigh I love the idea I think its better than a gift box I've come down with a cold and imgoing on holiday tomorrow to Llandudno for a turkey and tinsel break it's what you would get on a Christmas holiday but a lot cheaper we were going to go away for Christmas but I said I'd rather stay at home it wouldn't feel like Christmas with out staying in hour Christmas pj's all day love to all fran xxxxxxx❤❤❤❤❤

Why does Riley not get one? He is pnly 3 years older that f so seems very unfair that he gets a £7 afvent calendar and f and s get £50 of presents plus trips to the cinema .

Lovely idea, I'm sure the girls will love it, our traditoon is stockings in bed first thing, we do each others stocking buying with a limit of £15 in total for the whole contents and any one item cannot be more than £1.50 but can be less, its a great game to see who got the most items for £15, items also have to be useful or edible x

We did a £20 budget, but with 6 children that's £120 which is such a lot of money when half of it ends up in the bin. The older 3s best memory is opening stockings in our bed. We will still have stockings but with less in them and only things that will be used

Last years wrapping paper will be useful for the older children. When its nearly Christmas and they have no wrapping paper for their presents. Im sure that happened last year. Maybe with Jamie and Brooke ?

Please do not feel bad. I had many years where a £1 advent calendar was all I could get. We started advent boxes several years ago and I do feel some guilt that the older ones didn't get to enjoy it for many years before getting to old. They get our time and money in other ways, as will the younger ones when they get older. X

​@@lifeofthebaldwinsI didn't know any of these kinds of things where a thing until I joined social media, growing up a chocolate advent calendar was all I knew and a gift of new pj's and slippers on Xmas eve, so now that's what I do for my older children, I have older children from 11 up I also have a 17 month old who don't really understand Christmas at the minute, I get all my kids a chocolate advent calendar no matter the age but I feel if I did something like you have done for your younger girls for my littlest ones then I'd feel bad for the older ones who didn't experience it lol

I did this for my daughter when she was younger for years made her day before school. I bought things all year round as she wasn't bothered much about chocolate calendars and she loved the home made ones I made. Your girls will love them. xx
