Hi Elle and lots of love from Norway:) We do celebrate Saint Lucia day on 12.desember. Saint Lucia was originaly a martyr from Italy, she was declared as a saint by catholic church. Today It is a big part of the christmas advent and is mostly celebrated by a prosession/choire of people in white, holding candles and singing the Lucia Song while the lights are turned off. Also first in that prosession is the «Lucia» a girl or woman chosen to symbolize Lucia. She wears a glittery wreath adorned with candles on her head and also holds a candle. In addition we also bake buns called Lusekatt ( rough translation is Lucia kittens) these buns are made with saffron and rasins- people love them so its a guilt free bun-eating day really. It is a tradition that is celebrated at all ages, aspecially popular in kindegardens and schools but also in the adulthood. For instance people in my workplace arrange it and I also know that a lot of elderly homes and hospitals do it as well. It is a very beautifull tradition- and it stands out against the natural darkness of the winter season here in the north!

Oh, YIKE, I love these scarves. I have 4 and wear them all the time. The cream colored scarf will have to join my collection for sure. I wore the tartan scarf I purchased last year to Tennessee for Thanksgiving and I had so many compliments, and It was perfect for the weather there. We always celebrate Santa Lucia! It’s supposed to be celebrated on 13 Dec but we always celebrated on Christmas Eve with the eldest daughter of the family walking Through the neighbour hood wearing the crown of candles bringing good luck in when reentering the house! 100% Norwegian

Hi Elle! Norwegian subscriber here, been following you since 2015 🌟 Your hair looks amazing by the way 😻 I hope you had a lovely birthday. In Norway, we celebrate St. Lucia on December 13th as this was the shortest day of the year before the calendar reforms. St. Lucia was from Sicily. It’s regarded that she aided the Christian community and was martyred for being a Christian. The tradition is normally upheld by kindergarteners or early primary school children in Norway. The children typically walk in procession like was shown in your video. One will walk ahead in all white and a wreath crown holding lights, symbolizing St. Lucia bringing light with her. We also serve delicious saffron buns. It’s interesting because she’s one of the only saints we Norwegians celebrate, as we are a very secular country. Anyways, it’s a very “cozy” tradition (as we Norwegians would say), and a nice warm up for Christmas. ☺️

Yes - we celebrate the Lucia-day in Norway, mostly children do this, they dress like the woman in front with white dress and light crown and walk and sing a song about Lucia. Elle, I love you showed the lovely St. Lucia fest. Poulsbo is my hometown, I grew up attending this festival. Afterwards, Santa comes and all the kids get to sit on his lap and tell him what they want....well pre-pandi anyways. The Poulsbo version of the Santa Lucia bride fest is, like you said she was a lady to helped her village in hard times, but then some lord wanted her to marry him she didnt. he had her killed and she was seen on a on the water and returned to the village... this act was consider a miracle and the church later made her a saint.

Elle, regarding your hair product selection, I love the Olaplex products for my blonde highlighted hair. Get Olaplex No.3 - my colorist recommended it to me years ago and it really makes my hair shiny and healthy looking. You put it on 10-15 minutes to damp hair before you shampoo. The ln rinse and wash. I would use it 2 x per week in beginning and then spread out further as you need! LMK if you try it!! Always love Vlogmas. Thanks for doing it!

Objective comment: I think your hairdresser could bleach your hair one more time to get rid of the remaining brassiness. It’s still too dark at some places for purple shampoo to have any effect. I see some level 7 in there, overall you’re at level 8. But if you lift it all with 20% one more time you can bring your entire head to a level 8 and 9- will look more even and less brassy. Either way, your hair looks great but why not aim for perfection!

I agree, but doing it in stages helps to protect the hair - and I’d rather do that than get a lighter but more damages result. I have a follow up appointment in January and I think it will be much closer to desired results then

Hi Krista! The rug in my living room is a wool rug, I think it’s linked in my previous apartment tour (not current home). I do have three ruggables in the house - the one by the entrance and kitchen are all ruggables, and it’s also in my bathroom. I love that they are washable and the quality is great, but they feel like a thick, smooth, squishy fabric, not like a rug, and I think that’s both a good and bad thing! Highly recommend for high traffic areas. I would never have a rug in the kitchen otherwise. Hope that helps!

I've been coloring for 25 years but never had the courage to go blond. I wish I did. I was about your age when my first grays were popping in. I color treat my hair too and check out Lanza shampoo. You can get from Ulta. My hair dresser uses it and it's my favorite for myself for color treated hair. I use the Lanza Thickening Cream Shampoo. There are others as well but Lanza is very moisturizing without making it feel greasy or flat. Take care!
