I love T. Kingfisher. My fave story of hers is The Raven and The Reindeer. I didn't get an advent calendar but I did buy myself of my favourite Scotch, Old Pultney. So a dram just applies to whisky. Back home a shot of any other booze is traditionally called a jigger!

I also have never had a yarn advent calendar. Now that I think about it, I haven't ever had anything other than the generic grocery store chocolate advent calendars. That is so sad. I have wanted to buy yarn advents for several years and just haven't been able to remember early enough or set aside money early enough. I am currently crocheting a new advent calendar for my kids though so that I can fill it myself and not have those same chocolate calendars be the only thing my kids grow up with. I am just about to start a book titled Stung by Bethany Wiggins about a girl who wakes up branded, alone and on the wrong side of the city wall built to keep people safe. It sounds good so I am hopeful.

Your crochet advent is going to be so sweet! I love that. And I totally remember the chocolate ones - actually that very distinct cheap grocery store chocolate advent flavor is one that always stuck with me. I crave it sometimes. LOL.

Haha! That book about the orch sounds hilarious! I've never had a yarn calendar before, but a friend and I decided to swap calendars, one for every advent and one for christmas eve (which is when we celebrate in sweden). I also get a short story advent calendar every year by a swedish company Novellix, you get a short story and a tea every sunday,
