I love what you said at the end about twin mom's having something special in them. It's what I have to remind myself on the rough days! That I would not have been blessed with two if it wasn't something I could handle! And even after a long day of TWO fussy babies, you could never imagine your life without both of them. Each baby brings something so unique and special into the world! I have so many mom's that I meet who have just one kid, and want another, but dread going through another pregnancy.. because we all know how exhausting it is! So think how amazingly lucky you are to only have to endure one pregnancy and Bam! There's your little family! Hahaha. It's honestly the best ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you for sharing your knowledge 😊👍🏼I have 6-month-old boy/girl twins and I can relate to a lot you said! It is super important though like you were saying at the end of the video to remind yourself how blessed you are to have twins. I sometimes think I’m not doing enough and then I remember how people struggle with just one and I can do it with two at the same time! It’s easy to feel jealous or compare yourself to other moms who have one baby but you’re right- it is SO special to have two. Big hugs ❤️

I'm 23 weeks pregnant with identical twin girls and I needed to hear everything in this video. :) People really stress me out with their opinions (who don't have twins) and having to return to work and what I need etc. I am so thankful for my babies and love them so much but I have become more and more stressed lately on raising them!
@katelynsouth55556 жыл бұрын
Kate Stevick my girls are fraternal, but I thought it’d be so much harder! Granted we’re 7 weeks in, so we are by no means experts, but it’s not near as bad as I thought. My recovery went well, and I don’t mind a bit taking the girls out to run errands by myself. I thought that would be the hardest thing. Also, we haven’t lost as much sleep as I thought we would, so hopefully it’ll be the same for you!

10:45 You could always just keep a couple spare diapers and wipes (or an extra small diaper bag) in the car at all times too for those "just in case" situations so you don't have to wait until you get home to change them. I used to do that a lot and not have to lug around a huge diaper bag.

My fraternal twin boys are 15 months old and it's exactly the same with us! Even if both are wearing boy clothes in blue, people always ask if they are boy/girl twins? For the past week, they have started to throw more tantrums, pointing at things that they want and crying if they don't get their way. Although some days are difficult, I wouldn't ever give this up. I guess because I am going to be an older mom (37) through IVF/Surrogacy and because I was a nanny of 8 (6 boys, 2 girls) small children in one family I find it "easier" (insert laughter) to have a group of babies than a singleton. Not that being a mom/caregiver is easy especially a single mom by choice is difficult, but I don't sweat the small stuff. If they are clean, fed, and in a safe place the crying doesn't bother me. I can only do so much and the more frazzle you become the worse you make the situation. I think the moms of today put so much stress on themselves to be the "perfect" mom that they set themselves up to fail. If my kid is isn't eating organic gluten free almond milk soybean or some other granola mom concoction on his way to piano lessons at 6 months....I'm ok with that. If they miss their Pilate mommy and me class and their 1 hr long reflection class...God help me now, that's fine too. Going into motherhood with a high chance of multiples and being a single mother by choice is that at the end of the day the bar I'm setting is fed, breathing, not bleeding, and no psychological damage that will lead to them 1. Be on the POLE 2. Me on the local channel explaining why my kid grew up to have people chained in their basement with body parts in the fridge. It's never easy so why beat yourself up over something out of your control.

I am a twin mama of 10 month old boy and girl twins. I agree with pretty much all of the stuff you said. Some of the things are different from you for example the being their own person thing is a bit different with boy and girl twins since they aren’t the same gender I don’t really feel like you have to worry about that. But other then that everything else is pretty much the same. Love watching you Kendra! Love watching the girls grow and learn. Since they are four months older then my twins it’s fun to see where my twins will be in the coming months. 😊 And I definitely agree that it takes a special kind of person to be able to handle twins sometimes I’m hanging on the edge of sanity and other days it’s like the most wonderful day ever! Lol I literally no joke one time face planted on my bed and screamed! Lol I also have a 3 year old so it’s that much harder sometimes. But mostly it’s just an amazing opportunity that us twin mamas get to experience. 😃♥️

Things definitely change quickly when you have twins. Mine are going to be 4 in July, and I can totally relate to everything you mentioned, but really only through the age that yours are now. It feels like so long ago that mine were at that stage, and there are different challenges now at the age mine are currently. I really needed this video though. It’s hard to get caught up in all the struggles and negatives having twins (one of mine also has special needs), but this video was a reminder to think about how lucky I am to have been blessed with them.

🐝🐝 two little bees😍 I loved the fact that you talk about not seeing them as twins or calling them twins. I, one day, notice that as well. I even thought sometimes I forget they're twins or at least what one thinks "twins are like" before having twins or not having twins. They're so different and I never call them twins or gemelas in Spanish. My family does, and people I know do too. Also, I may be one of the few people who doesn't mind other people asking me about the girls because before having twins I was so drawn to just talking to moms with twins. I just loved the idea of having two identical babies at once. And now I have them, so I don't get mad at all when people stop me to ask me about them. I've had some people take photos of them. I've also had a few people ask me if they're boys or girls when they're dressed in pink and bows on😅. The only thing I don't like is when they get compared to the other. I've never had a problem going out with them. I'd say I would go out more often when they were a little younger (around 7 to 1yo) than now (they're 14mo) yeah, only 4months. They used to fall asleep in the stroller and I could just keep waking in the store, but since they started to take a nap during the day strictly they won't fall asleep if we're at the store. They just keep going and get fussy so if I go out is now more of a quick run as you say. But before I would go out no problem all day even, by myself. With twins you can't stop to think how you're going to do it, you just go go go without thinking about it. And yes they cry a lot more and fight but also follow each other everywhere hehe. Also, I like that you mentioned that you've never gone out with just one, and that's me too😄😃 It so weird to take just one. Everything, just everything 👌👌 they sleep together in their crib though, at the beginning I would put them in their own crib but they would wake up in the middle of the night CRYING and I would wonder why, then one day I put them in the same crib and problem solved.

I totally agree with you :-) Yeeess the first question from strangers always was "Are they twins ??" :-) my twins turned 18 years this january and believe me they are still my dramaqueens nr 1 .. I don t want to scare you but for me I guess it is because I am a single mom who didn t have a second pair of helping hands in things like educations or teaching them in well behavings . Finally we ve made it all three together and we survived somehow. Now they are adults and they are ready for live their life and whatever might come to them. I don’t have twins, but I have a 3 year old and 10 month old (both girls) and for both it never mattered what they wore, everyone always assumed they were boys. I also get stopped a lot or get comments about how “full my hands are”, especially if they’re both in a stroller. I can’t imagine how much you get with twins! My mom’s a fraternal twin so every time I’m pregnant I wonder if it’s twins since those are genetic. Your girls are adorable! 🐝

Thank you for saying that if you have twins you were made to have twins. I know it but it is nice to hear. Pregnant with twin boys due in 8 weeks. It's crazy because it took us 16 years to have successfull pregnancy. Our firstborn will be 2 next month and his twin brothers will be here a few weeks after :-D

Thanks for this Kendra! My boys are coming in the next few weeks and it’s so hard to prepare for such an unknown and less common experience. I needed that encouragement today.

I am a twin. And I know what my mom went through to raise us with me Dad. What I still find hard to this day is we are called “the twins”. If I am somewhere without my sister people ask me where she is and the other way around. I am 41 years old and this still happens. My mom used to dress us in the same outfit but different colors. Society has a head time recognizing twins as two different people and that is what is difficult. You are doing a great job! Love you! Xi

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this video. Such a well presented insight into your unique day to day life. I have a 9 month old baby girl who I adore but there are some days that are tougher than others so I can’t imagine having 2!! I’ve loved watching your channel over the last year and am going to forward a link to this video on to my brother in law and his wife who have just found out they are expecting identical twins also as I think you have provided some great tips xx

I don't have twins, but these are also great tips for any first time mom! I'm jealous that your daughters will never know what it's like to not have a buddy!!! And that they can entertain each other. 😊
