One advantage of the Nova is the ability to use Sorby and Record jaws. I believe the Vicmarc is lower ratio though, that should not matter if the holding is made correctly.

The hold of the vicmarc is superior to the nova as is the range of jaw sizes available, the precision of the vicmarc allows me to hold safely on a tiny tenon or even in a v groove something you cant do with a nova, i have tried
