@6:28 When I try to open the .exe program, nothing boots up. What computer are you using? I'm using a Windows 10 64 bit computer. Is the current software bugged since I just downloaded that whole .rar file as of 2024.12.12.

I thought PSO the only one protected, strange Soulcalibur!! I received VM2 less than a week ago, the automation everything has been perfection (dare I re-insert the microSD again, no) all except PSO will not go online without copy protection, now this was everything for my purchase to stop bootdiscing Dream Explorer for backing up I'm sure can get solved

Seems there are only a handful of protected saves for sure. But SC and PSO are the only 2 I have ever encountered.

I've tried two micro sd cards. Neither seem to be read by the vm2. Just says "no card inserted". They've been properly formatted as FAT32 and work on my PC just fine.

Mine doesn't have the ability to see any micro sd card. Havent tried saving to the memory card. Did you find anything out on your end?

As much as I like mine, two things that bug me - It doesn't work with my wireless striker and I cannot get Open Menu to work with my old GDEmu clone. I cannot be bothered with the file management, so I have ended up using my normal VMUs :). It will be great to see how this progresses down the line, should RetroFighters and Chris sort out the controller issue. Although, I will probably end up with 8Bitmods' VMU Pro which is looking promising and working with the wireless striker!

It's nice to see a modern VMU for the Dreamcast, but this is way too pricey. Current Euro to USD conversion puts this thing at over $130 and that's NOT including shipping. That's over 3 times what a used OEM 4x memory card goes for. You can even buy an Xbox Series 1TB memory card for that price. I might've been willing to put up with the price since it is a much more complex and feature-packed machine compared to other more conventional storage mediums are but being incompatible with the Retro Fighters StrikerDC is an automatic hard deal breaker. The original Dreamcast controller is an uncomfortable abomination that I absolutely hate. This is, of course, just an opinion so others may feel differently. As for me, I'll wait for something else to hopefully come around.

Doesn't work for retrofighters wireless controller. Really lame, waiting now for 8bitdo to release their memory card with better compatibility.

@@ArchadesGames it can but retrofighters have said they reached out and the creator has stated it will not be patched. Most likely because they have their own Dreamcast controller coming out.

@@onedot6674 This is not true at all! In 2023 Retro Fighters said that they would release a fix for adding support to the OEM 4x mem card & 3rd party memories as well. Since then, they released a fix that only supports the OEM 4x memory card, but ALL 3rd party memory cards are still not working with it. So, it's not my intension for the VM2 to not work with the wireless receiver. I suspect that it's probably a HW issue on behalf of Retro Fighters, and they're just afraid to admit it and support their customers.

Also, Retro Fighters never reached out to me for a solution. They didn't even ask for providing a test unit for them! Luckily though, one of my customers is going to provide me with one of their wireless controller, so I will investigate it myself and let everyone know what's the reason that it's not working with the VM2 or any other 3rd party memory card out there..

120 bucks plus shipping... Thanks, but no thanks. I can buy 5-10 used Memory Cards and VMUs for that and i have more than enough storage.
