SEGA created server-side saving that because a lot of us hackers were using PCs and crossover cables to manipulate the GameCube into giving us super rare items on PSO when the games saved on memory cards. SSS was the predecessor to cloud saving.

From a previous video of yours doing a review of the pico boot. I’m not a siring person so I traded my GameCube in for one that has a pico boot using Swiss already modded with an HDMI port. So far I love booting out my game boy player through the pico boot. I saw this item on Amazon and I decided to watch this video of this memory card. Sounds great looks good. There is one thing that’s driving me crazy. I’m playing GBA’s games. Normally, I could save it the regular way. How would you save Game Boy games. I would hold the R and L trigger buttons. It brings me to a sub menu where it says save but it doesn’t save it. I would like to either save it on the GBA cartridge or save it onto the memory card. Would you know how to save on the memory card or on the cartridge.

One thing I’d love to see incorporated is a shared storage for the PS1 & PS2 memory card unit and the GC memory card unit. Basically if you only want a 32gb micro sd card to be used for either or, they will read the files of the PS games when inserted in the PS memory card and when it’s inserted in the GC memory card it’ll read the GC files, and when they hopefully make one for the DreamCast, Xbox and N64 if they can make this happen you can share a single micro sd card with all of your old save files

I ducked out of video games aroubd the genesis era so I'm old and she's young but even less savvy. One question I'd love answered is if there is any way a card like this or something siilar could be used to bypass needing the disc for the game? S many of the gmes I'd like to play on thi system are unattainably expensive. It would be cool to be able to transform this system into a true "Game Cube" that could play cross-system games etc. I'm sure I'm dreaming big. Really promising, looking forward to it! One thing that I'd like to add: Some save files like town datas from Animal Crossing or Pokemon Box files can't be copied with a standard Gamecube since it would be an easy way to duplicate Pokemons or Animal Crossing towns. I obviously haven't used a MemCard Pro GC by now but I think the way to go there would be to move the file to the MemCard Pro GC, copy the data from the SD card to your PC or elsewhere, move it back to your memory card, and then to copy the save file on your PC back on the MemCard Pro GC.

Good review. However, one bit of important infomation not mentioned, which is how does it behave with out of region saves on a language bios mod on NTSC systems. The US or JP GC console can be modded to have a Eng/Japanese language bios switch, yet it was never compatible having US and JP saves on the same memory card. Back in the old days you had to have seperate memory cards for US and JP regions, as it would complain about wanting to format it, if you used a US formatted card on a JP bios and vice versa. Swiss used to have a ANSI text option to overcome this but the newer build does not have it.
@NotMoreZombies2 жыл бұрын
It'll handle save encoding the same way as a real memory card, but the way to avoid problems is just to have US/PAL and JP saves on different VMCs. If you're using Swiss it isn't an issue, it now automatically corrects save encoding.
