Yep, sure do. Northug ran like a maniac up the the two hills on the course, particularly the first one, where he cut Kriukov off and Kriukov lost speed. I also remember Kriukov making up ground on all those in front of him. Just a pity there wasn't a hundred meters or so more, because he had the fastest last couple hundred meters out of that entire group of skiers. Tomas Northug was already out of the race, so he wasn't involved, but Kriukov overtook Pellegrino, and was barely beaten by Hattestad in the final lunge. If you watch the race, you'll see that the fastest skier in the final drag was Kriukov, then Harvey, then Northug in a close one with Hattestad.

Despite that the commentators keep saying throughout the entire clip that Nikita Kriukov is faster than anyone in this kind of finish, and that Thomas Alsgaard even said he had the feeling Nikita could have gone faster if he had to...?

Bad tactical maneuver by Jönsson. There was some loose snow in the tracks, and besides such a tactic would only work if he could create a really big gap. Otherwise the rest will easily catch up with him with better glide (which of course happened). It turned out perfect for Kriukov who's not so good with diagonal stride...Northug helped him get right behind Jönsson.

Kriukov er faktisk bedre i klassisk sprint(staking). Men hvis det er ett oppløp med lang, slak motbakke har Northug en liten fordel. Kriukov treffer ekstremt bra på skyva, selv om Northug er en perfeksjonist er russeren en tåspiss foran. Bra for langrennssporten, at noen andre vinner!
