Well done. It is nice to compare processes with others. I had lost access to the manager for about 20 minutes during the manager (Step 4) upgrade portion. Did not need to do any additional restarts. I did keep an eye on the CPU utilization from vCenter monitor which showed consistent activity and never "flatlined".

Thanks for the great explanation One note in step one - Edge upgrade, the serial or parallel option is for the edge groups not the edge nodes inside the edge clusters Edge nodes inside an edge cluster are always upgraded in serial mode.

I upgraded our environment lost of issues with the hosts I had to take out of lockdown mode and manually put the host into maintenance mode and reboot. I had to clear up affinity rules issues and I am using AVI and GSLB. I wonder how this can be moved into the new version, thanks for the information.

Hi Jeffrey thanks a lot for this video, it's very useful to known in advance what's happen during the upgrade process also from a practical point of view, in addition to the vendor documentation. Just a question: using an nsx manager cluster installation which IP address for the GUI do you use for the upgrade process, the general VIP or the specific IP address of the manager where the upgrade service is running (get service install-upgrade) ?
