How much did your hw setup cost?
@vmexplorer Жыл бұрын
A lot of the parts in this build I bought years ago, so I'm sure exactly how much they cost. I'd recommend looking at my BOM page, where I list out all the components for this workstation build. From there, you can estimate the overall cost. vmexplorer.com/home-lab-bom/

Sharing VMs how exactly?
@alonzosmith61896 ай бұрын
@@vmexplorer I currently have 3 Linux VMs hosted on my workstation. Is it possible to share the Linux VMs with 3 people on the same network?
@vmexplorer6 ай бұрын
@@alonzosmith6189 On your Workstation Host setup a pNIC on "the same network". Once this is done, in Workstation go to Edit > Virtual Network Editor, choose a VMnet##, and under VMnet Information set the 'Bridged to' to the pNIC. Next go to your Linux VM's and set their network adapter to the VMnet## you choose. Do a simple ping test and you should be good to go. Hope this helps.

Please tell me you didn't buy all this hardware new for use in a homelab.
@vmexplorer Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment/question. No I did not buy any of this hardware new and the Intel Optane Drives came to me for being part of the VMware vExpert Intel Optane Samples program.
