When running nested NSX, I was getting very low throughput. I baselined my network ESXI host to ~40Gbps (2*25G uplinks). However, the nested network was only getting ~1.5Gbps. Yes, all nested intel technologies was turned on. Other nested environments didnt have this performance hit at all.

That's interesting. I haven't done much throughput testing, but it sounds similar to some of the older issues with nested hosts (detailed in William Lam's awesome blog here: williamlam.com/2014/08/new-vmware-fling-to-improve-networkcpu-performance-when-using-promiscuous-mode-for-nested-esxi.html ) - that said, if your other nested environments aren't seeing the same issue, it begs the question: what's different about this one?

Just one question - Can I use one ESXi host, e.g. Dell PowerEdge R630 2x E5-2680v3 2.50Ghz 24-Core 128GB DDR4 2TB SSD for an ESXi nested environment to perform most of the NSX-T tasks? Or do I need atleast 2 physical servers?

I have very important question: how to enable internet from DHCP for my virtual machines for VMware Workstation? Bridge, and NAT is not working.

Usually one of those settings would work. When you put it into those modes, does your VM receive an IP via DHCP? Can the VM ping the default gateway? Start with that test first and see what the result is - then go from there. If you can hit the default gateway your virtualization config in VMware Workstation is correct.

@@NRDYTech I am testing with RHEL8, and with DHCP without sucsess from Anaconda(instalation program). The same is with Ubuntu Server after boot.

@@NRDYTech Finished my nested NSX lab. A lot of knots in brain. Nested ESX, BGP peering to pfsense. Works like a charm.
