I knew 2 families had SV 5000, another person who had gold edition but could been VP at the time a lot old generation had these Commodores. My favourite n have original poster is VN SS Group A, always wanted one that i even built one out of balsa wood in Grade 6 92

SV5000 is an amazing car, I want to do a video on one someday… the VN Group A is unbeatable, wonder what ever happened to the one you made in 1992?

I was lucky to meet a bloke who had two rare VN Calais wagons, I tried to purchase one of them, but he wasn’t going to sell. Both were v6 models, but still rare , I haven’t seen any others. Mouse

My first car was a VN 1989 executive manual. Had no issues with it, but agree the motor was a little harsh.
@GTZ054 ай бұрын
Good to see it was at least a reliable car which is important, manual would be really rare today in a V6
@jb75915 ай бұрын
Essentially 55mm wider than Vb-L. I remember driving a VN when they were first released in 88 and couldn't believe how quick it was. I didn't care about the V6's harshness rather it's performance. An ea foulcan didn't see which way it went.
@GTZ055 ай бұрын
Amazing that 55mm was a make and break for size, totally agree the V6 was such a quick everyday car for it’s time, I loved the performance. A VN V6 would out run the previous VL V8 model, don’t think there would be any other model that the base motor in an all new model would be faster than the previous superseded V8, unheard of!

I remember when this travesty came out. Narrow track,abysmal quality, horrid motor. We had some of these on fleet where I worked, and whenever I had to run errands I would drive anything else. After owning many Holdens over the years this is the one that made me turn my back and buy something else. Final nail in the coffin was the race fans’ reaction to Nissan’s victory at Mt Panorama in 1992…Skyline all the way after that…

Not hubcaps wheel trims.
@GTZ05Ай бұрын
I agree, but calling them what most people refer to them as EG: if you search VN Wheel trims on EBAY not much comes up, put in hub caps and the list is much larger, go figure.
@area51isreal7123 күн бұрын
They were horrid things. Rough and noisy engine, awkward looking with the front track from the previous model and a HR sized steering wheel. Cheap flat grey wheel trims completed the picture.
@GTZ0522 күн бұрын
Yet so many people like them for a lot of those reasons and they were the best seller at the time. I prefer the V8, transforms the car, but have also had the V6 but my preference is Berlina, Calais and the HSV variants

Dude, you're ripping of Mark Behr and his stellar work. HE worked with these brands back in the day. You come off as a bottom feeder.

There are heaps of people making videos about cars on youtube these days, reviews, specific models, builds and the like, how is this any different? You are entitled to you opinion though.
