Between the VN SS Group A and the SV5000 the then fledgling HSV with some help from GMH definitely started ticking the right boxes. With the 304 to 355 stroker engines eventually becoming very popular leading to the VS HSV GTS-R... 😎🇦🇺👍

You’re not wrong Mark, the V8 in a VN transforms the car and then all those extra styling bits and mechanical upgrades on the SV5000 and Group A takes it to another level.. can’t be compared to a basic VN 🙂

I remember pulling away from one of these when on my P's in my AB Cordia Turbo with a 2.5in press bent exhaust and 11psi from 3rd gear (~100km/h) onwards. SV5000 owner was more than surprised and as a 17yo I was over the moon.

Those Kordia’s would be super rare now. There where highway patrol Kordia’s back in the day.. you sure would have been a very happy 17yo.. nice one 👌

Didn't know there's only 4 in red as 1 was regularly driven around Penrith NSW in the 90's as I seen it being dailyed thought not much of it just knew it wasn't a green one👍🏻

Yeah super rare, they were a deep maroon the Ruby Red ones.. imagine if that one has survived.. I’ve never seen a red one in the flesh only online

Yeah all SV89 were white, the model before the SV5000 released in March 1989

The back seats look identical to the VR VS Caprice.

Basically the same with padding near near the doors shaved, headrests on the VQ,VR & VS Caprice are adjustable but on the SV5000 they are fixed. Caprice has small perforated cloth inserts on parts of the seats instead of full leather, all equally great seats👌
